Cool Double Din Navi

Hey guys I'm new to the forum, not really. I have been lurking around and finally join. Just wanted to say hi.

I recently purchase a 09 Altima Coupe and thinking about putting in a double din navi in it. I just want to see picture of your double din, so I can get a picture of how it would look before I actually purchase one. Thank

I really like how this looks and am really tempted to do something similar, as long as I can make it look stock.

No it's not detachable. Most are not for in-dash GPS/Multimedia. Although a car alarm does help. I don't live in the ghetto so I shouldn't have a problem.

Put some boom in tonight too. What a whore to put power wire in this car. But it's done lol.

The in dash unit works excellent after using it some more. It's great. I'm sure there are better ones out there but the GPS is the best I've used and it works excellent with the stock speakers. I did not have the Bose system, just regular and it sounds excellent along with the sub. The stock speakers keep up very very well although I may put in the Alpine set I have some other day. No complaints.

Altima-Coupe:

Did you tie in your navi with the steering controls?

After a lot of research I found this: SWI-PS Sony Pioneer Steering Wheel Adapter AVIC-D3 PAC - (eBay.ca item 200288721745 end time 14-Jan-09 06:46:19 EST) Ordered. It wires into the wheel controls. I's supposed to work very well according to the guys on avic411.com. Time will tell.

Here's a kind of a better pic as well...

I took the car to the dealership last night (they wanted to see the install because they've only sold two coupes this year (1 to me, 1 to an old guy). The sales guy that sod it to me loves it haha.

Here's mine. I found that the only way to go is the OEM double din surround. The third party/aftermarket stuff is junk.

Yeah I should have got the OEM one... damn.. I hate you lol. How much was the OEM DDIN piece? I might go pick one up tomorrow because it looks a hell of a lot better.

it's only $30 or so. the part# is 68260-ja00a

make sure you give the parts counter your vin# so they can verify that that is the correct bezel. make sure you do NOT get the BOSE bezel because it's wider than normal aftermarket head units.

I really like how that looks Neo. I am very tempted to do something like that. Did you also hook up the steering wheel controls? And, did you install it yourself or did you take it somewhere? Nice job!
