So I started a post about a month ago about rattles/squeaks. UPDATE from DEALER. Nissan is crazy and there dealer is to. I have a high rattle coming from the right front passenger dash/windshield area. You know what the mechanic tells me when I'm on the test drive with him??? "Well we hear this rattle all the time on Altimas and its normally the "bad" glove box they put on the Altimas" he said. He said to push in the glove box when I'm driving to make the rattle go away. ARE you kidding me NISSAN?? I didn't buy a 22+ thousand dollar car to have to hold the glovebox while im driving to stop your car from rattling! And the rattle isn't even coming from the glovebox but from the passenger side dash/windsheild. He told me there was nothing they could do this is how the car is made. My car is rattling BAD. Not just a tiny sound but when you go over any types of bumps small or large your hear that bad rattle. So now im stuck paying on a car that rattles. Can you imagine whats gonna happen AT 20,000 miles if its doing this at 650 miles?? I am also starting to notice a rattle coming from the rear back right A-Pillar. I'm gonna pay this car off in a year so I can trade it in for a REAL car.
Naw bro I talked to the dealer OWNER the dude basically is standing by his mechanics. Said there is nothing they can do unless I can show them or tell them the exact location of the rattle. Dude I told them front right passenger side dash/windshield. He said I needed to be more specific. What sucks is a rattle is not considered a lemon law defect. The whole car could be rattling and it wouldnt be a lemon. This sucks next car will not be a nissan very dissapointed by the dealership and there product.
I bet if we weren't in a recession they would have no problem taking care of the squeaks such as replacing parts or trade-in. But believe me, I DO understand how annoying it is b/c my own coupe squeaks when I drive over bumps. Regardless: RECESSION = GREED = BULLSHIT Service
I got fed up with the bullshit from the dealership I bought my coupe from (in Exton, PA - to all owners, steer clear of them) and took it elsewhere and have gotten great service.
I had a rattle in the same area sometimes...then I realized, it was my sunglasses rattling in the holder above, lol! BUT, I do hate how the passenger seatback rattles when no on is in it...I just turn the radio up and its fine. Other than that, no other complaints.
Hey guys quick question, if you don't like your dealership and go to another dealership and they ask why are you taking your vehicle here instead of your dealership, what should I tell them?
Tell the truth, and that you expect good service. Just my opinion
Ur absolutely right about that, but I had a Mazda 3 and I didn't like the service of that dealer and went to another dealer and told them about the fact that the other dealer couldn't fix the problem I had, which was that my brakes kept on squealing, and they actually called my dealership and told me to go back to them. I was very confused, but when I went back they treated me like more crap and had to end up trading in the car. Hopefully my nissan experience wouldn't be bad as the mazda.
I agree with taking it to another dealership. I would always go to Glendale Nissan but they could never fix it and then I took it to Downtown L.A. Nissan and they replaced parts and its all good now.

From my experience (with Honda and Infiniti dealerships at least), they usually don't ask or care. They're more interested in your money.
The one time I've been asked such a question was when I got fed up with the shithole that is Exton Nissan (<5 minutes away) and took it to a dealership 30+ minutes away. I mentioned only the name of the first dealership and the sales/service guys pretty much all laughed since it's apparently one of the worst in the Philadelphia suburbs.
Yea sounds like my mazda dealership which was Roto Mazda. The service department was horrible. Well hopefully Martin Nissan which is in IL is a lot better. They supposedly got a award from nissan called, the owner first award of excellence. Hopefully the service department is good.

Is that the one in Skokie? If it is, I had a bad experience with them..wanted to buy a used altima..I called them about the car, scheduled a test drive and had the money ready..the salesman even gave me a call right before I left my house to confirm that I am coming..
However when I reached the dealership, the salesman checked for the car and it was gone..2 days ago..and the worst thing is, I live in Indiana which is 2 hours away from the dealership and the guy knows it! I went home pissed..he should have checked for the car before I came..

Yup its the one in skokie. Damn that sucks that you came from so far. My salesman was this old geezer I forgot his name but yea that dealership sucks badly. Also Schaumburg Mazda sucks too, I went there for service and horrible service and the advisor didn't even know what he was talking about.
