35% vs 20% tint

I have a red 2009 Coupe... I need help deciding on 35 or 20% tint. 35% is legal but can you tell if there is tint even? Is it hard to see out of 20%? Post pics please!

I got 20% and love it. I only have problems seeing at night when I'm in a very dark area.

I have 35% in front and 20% in back...you can tell it's there, and from the outside on a sunny day it's hard to look inside unless you are right up on the glass...

i have 25% in the front and 15% in the rear and you cant tell. What the tint guys told me is that you have to have legal tint in the driver and passenger side windows but the windows in the back you can go as dark as you want. Not sure if thats same in other states though.....

^ Depends on your state. Every state has different tint laws.

So wait wait. Tint talk always confuses me.

The lower the % the darker?

If that's the case, then what's the legal tint % for NY.

NY legal is 70%, although I know a lot of users on here get away with 35%.

Yep, the lower the darker...the number represents the percentage of light the tint lets through...

I had my whole car done by a guy a work with for $200, so $240 isn't bad for a shop...just make sure they have a lifetime warranty on the tint job...

You can check your state here. I'm in OH and it says 50% on the driver's side and passenger side and any % on the rears. I think I'll be able to get away with 35% all around. I don't want anything too dark to attract the cops, but I also don't want to get too light and it not make a difference.
