I believe all you have to do is press the Traction control or the VDC (vehicle stability) buttons to turn them off. My altima has the button down by my left knee.

ya thanks i forgot to add in it's a 2.5s. i know the buttons you're talking about but on the 4 cylider it just has a trunk switch and two black buttons
