Ester Oil for New 3.5.

Nissan has reccomended and put in from the factory Ester Oil. I'm informing you of this so that when you change your oil and put in petrolium based oil or even synthetic you run the risk of engine noise. Specifically because Ester Oil clings to the parts as regular and synthetic do not. It is expensive but is reccomended. Nissan has also made this fact clear for the 370Z.

It is recommended but not required. I just had my oil changed at the Nissan dealership and the recommended the Nissan synthetic or Mobil 1 synthetic. I have not had any engine noises.

thats a bunch of crap, only thing i did hear about making noise is the use of non oem filter but thats it. why pay 12 dollars when u can get about 2 qt for that price hell with that ester oil. and i actually went with synpower and it its pretty good for valvoline, someone just recently told me that the 5w30 from mobile 1, well they changed the formual and its not as good.
