Very interesting how it with this new breed of engine.

Looking at the wheel specs, now the offset is 50 mm for the 16" and 17" wheels, and 55 mm for the 18" wheels.

EVENT DATA RECORDERS (EDR)

This vehicle is equipped with an Event Data Recorder
(EDR). The main purpose of an EDR is to
record, in certain crash or near crash-like situations,
such as an air bag deployment or hitting a
road obstacle, data that will assist in understanding
how a vehicle’s systems performed. The EDR
is designed to record data related to vehicle
dynamics and safety systems for a short period of
time, typically 30 seconds or less. The EDR in this
vehicle is designed to record such data as:
● How various systems in your vehicle were
operating;
● Whether or not the driver and passenger
safety belts were buckled/fastened;
● How far (if at all) the driver was depressing
the accelerator and/or brake pedal; and,
● How fast the vehicle was traveling.
● Sounds are not recorded.
These data can help provide a better understanding
of the circumstances in which crashes and
injuries occur. NOTE: EDR data are recorded by
your vehicle only if a nontrivial crash situation
occurs; no data are recorded by the EDR under
normal driving conditions and no personal data
(e.g. name, gender, age and crash location) are
recorded. However, other parties, such as law
enforcement, could combine the EDR data with
the type of personally identifying data routinely
acquired during a crash investigation.
To read data recorded by an EDR, special equipment
is required and access to the vehicle or the
EDR is needed. In addition to the vehicle manufacturer
and NISSAN dealer, other parties, such
as law enforcement, that have the special equipment,
can read the information if they have access
to the vehicle or the EDR. EDR data will only
be accessed with the consent of the vehicle
owner or lessee or as otherwise required or permitted
by law.

I don't think this is anything new.. the 4th gen (or even older) already have them? But ya, I would like to get rid of this the first day I get the car hah

I don't think you will be able to disable this feature. Call me paranoid, but I think that it is mandated by the goverment and cannot be over ridden.

New Fluids

The 2013 requires new transmission and power steering fluids. The 4th generation uses "NS-2" for its CVT and Dextron AT fluid for its power steering booster. It would be a good idea to find out what these fluids cost and what the service intervals are before committing to the car - "NS-2" is $15 ~ $20 per quart!

CVT, p. 8-13, 9-2:

● Use only Genuine NISSAN CVT Fluid NS-3. Do not mix with other fluids.
● Using transmission fluid other than Genuine NISSAN CVT Fluid NS-3 will damage the CVT, which is not covered by the warranty.

Power Steering Fluid, p. 8-14, 9-2:

● Use of a power steering fluid other than Genuine NISSAN E-PSF will prevent the power steering system from operating properly.

EDIT: I found a couple of places that sell NS-3 for about $15 per quart:

Yeah, I saw the same video. But looking at the manual again, it does show it on page 2-6 for the rearview mirror. Also page 3-34 says Type A without compass, and Type B with compass. So I guess some will not have the compass on the dimming mirror.

Starting on page 2-16 it talks about what is shown on the main LCD, but doesn't mention compass. I wonder if it will only be there on models with navigation?

Got to test drive a 2.5 SV and SL today. The SV has the regular non-dimming mirror, and the SL has the dimming mirror with homelink and compass. Neither one came with the navigation system, and the main LCD did NOT show the compass. So only if the car has the navigation system, will it show that and the compass in the main instrument cluster LCD.
