I was thinking the same thing on the trade...makes me sad to be de-throned as i believe i got the best deal in the US on my car . Still, he's posting a sticker of 31K and change which makes sense when you look at my sticker (in my signature) and add the options he's getting that i don't have (tech, mud guards, kick plates). I estimate those options at about $1k negotiated...If he doesn't have a trade they're hiding $ in and it's a straight cash offer he's got me...If there is a $500 incentive from Nissan on the 13's now (which wasn't available when i bought in early Sept.) he's got my deal beat by about $500 which is very feasible...I'm sure my dealer had to make some profit or the car wouldn't be in my garage right now! Honestly, part of me hopes it falls through if he won't take their $1,700 warranty package, they could easily burried $500 there, robbing Peter to pay Paul as they say. The other part of me hopes he saw my purchase deal and comments on a previous thread and used it as a basis for negotiation! I had a buddy get a great deal on a 99 cherokee...so good that the same dealer wouldn't give me the same deal a week later when i walked in with a copy of his purchase contract! Fortunately when i walked into a competetive dealer, showed them the sales contract and said i didn't want to drive that far & said beat it or meet it they beat it by $500. Best of luck to you, please keep us posted!

2013 Altima 2.5 SV Super Black with charcoal cloth interior
Convenience Package
Spoiler
Splash Guards
Mats

MSRP - $26,955
Invoice - $24,824 (truecar), $24,586 (edmunds)
Edmunds "True Market Value" - $25,233
Average paid in my area according to truecar - $26,193

I paid $24,087 not including TTLF (~$2200) and $500 rebate, and I didn't even have to do any negotiating. I used edmunds.com to put out quote requests for all nearby dealers. In less than 24 hours, I received my quotes. I intended to pit them against each other, but I also waited till end of quarter (September) to do so. I was able to get an extremely aggressive first offer at ~$500-$800 below invoice because of it, and also got a preapproved loan to avoid having to finance through them. Printed out my emailed quote, took it to the dealer, and signed papers in a matter of minutes. Would've been out of there just as fast, but the car was still "factory sealed" and needed to be prepped (I imagine the time it took to do this would've been spent negotiating/arranging finance).

I would recommend this tactic to everyone.

- Use edmunds or truecar to get your quotes for you. Pit the Internet Sales Managers against each other with their quotes, and when you get your lowest quote, take it to the dealership.
- Get preapproved. Avoid financing through them. Don't tell them you're doing this until the price is agreed upon. Sometimes they'll give you a tempting quote only to make their money back on the back end. Let them give you an awesome quote then shock them when you walk in with your own financing, or better yet, cash.
- Best time to buy is end of the year, then end of the quarter, then end of the month. If you're planning to buy soon, try to wait till the last week of December. Even better if the weather is awful, as the floor will be empty.

Hey Folks,
Thanks for your support. I finalized the deal. I didn't buy the warranty from them. They were trying to sell me the Ford plan which was exactly same as Nissan 7yr 120k for $1397 and Nissan for $1600. I said no I will think over it. I signed up for the car.
I think my wife likes the car. It's for her. So the final deal is here

2013 Nissan Altima cayenne red 2.5 SL with 7" Touch screen Nav /Tech Pack + Splash Guards + Illum Kick Plate + Mats + Rear Decklid spoiler + External Ground Lights
MSRP $31,140 -- Invoice $28,980. I've it for $26,976 + 7% Tax + Reg - Edmunds $500 rebate = $28,640. I financed it for 1.99% 60 months.
I tried bargaining on interest rates comparing it to Credit unions offer of 1.49%..I spent almost 2 hrs..and then gave up because I had to run for a meeting..but made this New additions..Got a punch card for 6 Oil changes and 3 free services. They also added $250 to my Nissan 1to1 rewards account as Sales offer that can be used towards future new cars and any accessories up to that value (doesn't expire). I like it..They have provided me a great customer service so far.

Have anyone done any recent leasing? Would be interested to know what you had to pay at signing, and for the monthly payment.

I thought about leasing, but the deal for the car was so good, leasing wasnt worth the difference.

3.5 SL with Technology Package
MSRP $32970

Paid $27970 less $1000 NMAC financing incentive plus tax tags etc.... ~$28900 out the door.

Several other dealers said they would lose almost $2000 at that price and could not match.

Congrats.

This is the best time of year to buy. If it was up to me and not my previous junk car being on its last legs, I would have held off on buying until the last week of December.

Those of you who are still potential buyers, now is the time to see what kind of quotes you can get.

Took deliver on 11/27 of a '13 Altima 2.5SL with mats, external ground lighting, and splash guards. MSRP was $29,240. Sale price was $25,662 less another $500 rebate for NMAC financing. Assuming I get the $500 visa cash card, sale price was $24,662+taxes and fees.

Hi everyone,

With Nissan VPP pricing through work (business affiliate discount) our deal was: 21,700 (3k off msrp) on a Black S model with splash guards and the lighted door kick plates...+300 tax, 22k out the door. No trade-in. 9k down, with nissan financing. Plan is to pay off in a year. In South Carolina.

The car had 14 miles on it when we left the dealership

Smile Need help getting a 3.5SL with tech package

Looking for this car in the New York, long land area. Totally confused as whether to buy or lease, What is a better deal and what should I expect to pay. Went to dealer and walked away confused and really no good deals, compared to what I have seen in this forum. Can anyone give me some guidance, leaning toward leasing. Thanks. Need a good dealer to trust!!!!

Prices vary on when and where you're shopping. For a more accurate gauge on prices in your area, use truecar.com. A good deal is usually considered a few hundred below invoice. You'll be more likely to find lower prices towards the end of the month and even moreso at the end of the quarter (March). Invoice price for the car I bought in September was $350 less than truecar is showing now.

Walking into a dealer and asking for a quote is usually a long shot as that is their best chance to get the most money out of you, unless you're willing to butt heads and haggle for 4 hours.

Also, test drive your car for any documented issues that can be avoided. Go for a later production model. I haven't done any real statistics but just judging by the manufacture date thread on this forum, earlier models (pre-September) tend to have more of the build-quality issues.

Check the Edmunds.com lease forum for the 2013 altima. You will get an idea of what others have paid. Word of advice, do a lot of research wether you decide to purchase or lease to preent yourself from getting screwed over.
