It would be nice to just plug in there at the overhead consol, but I bet the wires go across the head liner and down the pillars.

My dealership said since it has a thermometer, it has to connect to the thermometer somewhere near the grill.

I dont necessarily need the thermometer. Has anyone here had experience with installing an aftermarket homelink mirror? Is it easy to do?

I just found out there is no part # for the mirror and he said you will be able to by more parts after Oct 1st but it dosn't look good for the home link mirror because there isn't a part # for it.Maybe it's to early to tell hopefully someone will have a better answer for us.There is a great after market you can get but whats the right one.

well the headliner has a pre-cut for the cabling.
I was unable to figure out how the map light/sunglass holder thingy comes out to see if I could see wires in the area.

I wonder if you just had home link and auto dim mirror that you could hook up at the map light?

It would save from pulling on your head liner, popping off all the covers just for a temp reading.I think the home link and the auto dim can be hot all the time without running down your battery maybe we can get someone's idea on this.

Before making the purchase, you might want to take a test drive with one at night to see if it performs up to your expectations. Here's a link to another post I made suggesting some improvements.

i just noticed I do not have a compass on my rearview mirror. I do have the dimming mirror though. I bought a 2.5SV with convenience package, should I have the compass on there as well? Hmmm...

Nice pick up for $7.50, looks brand new.

But I have to say, I love the digital compass in my mirror in my 2013 SL.

How much does Nissan want for the stock SL mirror???
