dville,

What is the top black piece in the last photo? It is also partially shown in the middle photo. The reason I ask is that I found a piece that looks almost exactlly like it on the floor of my wife's car today.

I was wondering where it came from and she does have a HomeLink mirror in her Toyota.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

It covers the wires next to your windshield, it just snaps back on.

See the two notches on top of the piece with the broken glass?
The piece you found snaps into that and the other end (on the left in the last pic) wedges under the headliner.
It is designed to be expandable for different cars.

I covered mine up with a broadway mirror. I can still access the one button I programmed. Stock mirror is too small and I prefer the convex mirror.

Are you sure it doesn't work, some openers - like mine - use rotating codes that require you first clone your remote, then push the learn button on the openers receiver. If it really can't work, you can still buy an external receiver that connects to the wall button and will allow it to work, Sears and other retailers sell them.

Just FYI in case you want it to work. Many, many years ago I installed openers and garage doors.

I have the Homelink mirror without temp/compass, probably because I have the Nav system and temp is display in my center display.

I Ike the garage door, compass and auto dimming features. Ironically I don't have a reason for the garage door ATM. And since I have the nav it doesn't come with the compass.
