For the second time I wrote ALL of the Nissan Customer Affairs people I listed in my earlier post and for the second time I got a call from their offices.
Once again I was told that they were working on the heated seats fix. I reminded them that its been more than 90 days since they first told me to expect a fix in 30 to 60 days......so much for that estimate. Obviously, the solution may be more complicated than thought...or....they are just giving me an excuse and hope that the "complainers" just go away!
I plan on continuing to contact them monthly until the issue is resolved............"I want what I want"...and what I want is a $30M product that works as advertised.
Na..I didn't "overpay"....just exagerated....paid $28,900 out the door for my 2013 3.5 SL w/o nav.
Most people don't think about Roman numerals these days... the SI/metric prefixes are more common, so to them, $30M = $30 million and $30K = $30 thousand. $30MM is a fairly common abbreviation for $30 million, but $30M is ambiguous. (FWIW, $30M means $30 million to me, although I knew what you meant
I'm in the printing business and the "M" is still used to represent thousands both in prices and in paper weights...as in "M/weight" (the price of paper stock based on size and total weight per thousand sheets)......old habits die hard.......lol
yes... i read it as 30million. Didn't mean to pull the thread off topic about it lol.
I had the dealership look at my heated seats. They said they called the techline but that its functioning as designed and no fixes are yet available, despite the bizarre behavior. Hopefully a fix is released...
Just jumping in to say that our 2.5SL also has the same issue. I just sent an email via Nissan's website and will follow up with those specific people if I receive a generic reply from my website submission.
I own a 2013 Altima SL and had the same issue as everyone else with my seats. I emailed Nissan just as everyone else did and received a call back about a month ago. They set up an appointment for yesterday for me to drop off my Altima at my local dealership. They sent a "dealer technician specialist" to the dealer to assist. I got the car back and low and behold the seats now actually work as they should! Not only that, but the back heats much more towards the top then it did before (not just lower back). The dealership said they replaced the harnesses but the paperworks states: the fuses/ fuse block. I also had a tech package problem that the car had already been in twice for. I dont know if having multiple issues motivated them to fix mine quicker than most or what. Just figured I would share.... Hopefully they send out a service bulletin soon for everyone else. P.s. Thanks to whomever posted about asking for the $250 gift card for time and aggrivation.... I asked and she said no problem! I advise everyone with this issue does the same
Good deal! I cut and pasted your post and emailed it to my service mgr.
We are all pleased that you have led the way.
I certainly hope the fix trickles down to the rest of us before winter is over.
It's fitting that you, being in the great state of Maine, be taken care of first.

Glad I could help. Maybe they are taking care of the coldest cheeks first!
Well...you had a better resolution that I have had so far. Every time I write the Consumer Affairs group I get a call but it's sort of a generic conversation. They tell me that have my case on file, they are aware of the issue, they are working on a solution, and my dealer will contact me eventually.
It's been 4 months since I first wrote them!
I'll try calling my dealer to inquire about having a "dealer technician specialist" look at my car. (my guess is that won't happen)
Who set up your appointment?...Nissan Consumer Affairs???? or was it your dealer that set it up? Could you give me the name and location of your dealership so I can work backwards and see if they can lead me to someone in my part of the country that can resolve the issue for me?
I'll assume that if ONE "dealer technician specialist" can fix the problem then others can.
Specifics (dealership name/location) would be a helpful start....thanks!
NISSAN really is screwing over people. I'll never own another one. My seat problems haven't been fixed. I keep getting the standard it's going to be 30 more days they're working on it. Seat leather is now starting to bunch up in passenger seat, 1475 miles guess it's worn out..lol Installed new Nav system screen kept blacking out ,now backup camera don't work. NISSAN COMSTOMER AFFAIRS just told me take it back to dealer get it rediagnosed and then call back. They weren't aware of a seat problem with the heating. Can't wait to get fixed to where I can go back to AMERICAN Autos.

American autos, huh? The Altima is built in America. Sad to say but I suspect a number of the fit and finish problems of the car are likely due to American workers not doing a very good job. The heated seats is an engineering problem and falls on Nissan, though.
BTW, when was the last time an American brand was considered reliable? I'd buy American in a second if I wasn't concerned with reliability.
