Figured I would just ask one of you that own a 5th gen Altima to take a pic of the trunk area from the floor up at the light. Curious to see if the trunk light that Racingline offers will fit the new model.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for:

Exactly what I am looking for...and better yet, what I was hoping to see. Nissan is still using the exact same trunk light fixture in the new Altima that they have been using for the past 4 generations. This means that the trunk light that I make for Racingline WILL fit the 5th gen car. Will have to get one into a car to see where they best mounting locations are, but it will install the same way.
Nice. I'd actually be interested in one. Is that the only place that sells it.
Officially...yes. I am the one that builds them, but Racingline is the 'distributor' for the item. Many of the other people on this forum with other generations of Altimas know that, and it is not a secret.
For that matter, anything with the 'BT Designs' name on their site is made by me. I will have to look into the footwell kit for the 5th gen at some point when I can get my hands on a car.
The trunk light is a simple plug n play item. There are thousands of LED replacement bulbs available to fit the existing light fixture, but they are all limited by one thing, the fixture itself. The biggest, best, brightest bulbs are going to be limited due to the opaque coloring of the plastic. Using strip lighting allows the LEDs to be spread along a larger surface area which spreads the light out more. Another issue is that inside that small plastic dome, the high power (=high heat) bulbs will fail prematurely due to insufficient cooling.
I have one of BT's light strips in my trunk. Like he said, it's plug and play, and there's a lot more light. It's a worthwhile and inexpensive upgrade.

Do you know for sure if your strip will fit the 2013? I was thinking of ordering one... Also, how do the strips attach to the car?
I find the trunk dark. This is a great idea, placed my order last night.
I will probably have that order later today from Racingline. There is another order for one for a 5th gen going out today, so hopefully you guys can post some pics up.
As a couple of you have stated, the OE lighting is dim. This is something that is so easy to do and practical, that I consider it more of a need than a mod.

Would your "07+ Altima BT Design Footwell Lighting Kit" work on the 2013 Altima?

I will go out on a limb here and say 'Yes'...since it has fit into everything I have tried to put it into.
BUT...I want to get my hands on a car to install one into it before I say it is available for sale. Part of my goal as a seller is to have the hands on experience with the vehicle to walk anyone through an installation when a problem arises.
Anyone on this forum live in the Puget Sound area???
