Just picked up my wife's '13 SV today. It came with the factory installed spoiler (not dealer) and noticed the 3rd brake light is also in the car and functional. We had two previous Altima's with factory spoilers and there was no 3rd brake light assembly in the car. Anyone else notice this? Does Nissan make a cover/plug so you can remove the light?
*Update: I called the dealer and they said no block-off cover is offered for the '13. I drove to the dealership and looked at others on the lot with spoilers and they all have the 3rd brake light also too......very strange.
I think it looks silly too, especially since all 3 sets are a different color red.
Not on mine, they are all the same color and with tinted windows you don't see the third brake light till it comes on and when it goes off you think where did light go it was on top of the spoiler. you have to be seating in a car behide your car to see this.
Anyone knows what bulb the 3rd Brake Light (inside, not the spoiler) uses?
I want to change them with LEDs, but I can't find the type (number) of
the bulbs.

Can anyone chime in?
Thanks.
the third brake light is a led,the service manual says when the light goes out you replace the whole unit.

Removed, as I was incorrect, it was a different bulb I was thinking of. Sorry!
I just went and looked and it seems both are LED. You can unplug it though
The light in the spoiler is LED, not the back window, that is a standard bulb and can be replaced. I saw it when I replaced my rear speakers, sorry I don't know the exact part number. It's definitely not LED and is just one of those push in types like the ones used for signals or single filament brake lights.
Wrong. Cleve is right on this one. I took mine apart to smoke out when I did the tail lights. The entire thing is just a L.E.D. blade that snaps in to the housing. It's not an individual bulb, it's 5 or 6 LEDs in a housing.

I know that this is a little late to the party seeing the post date on your msg, but I just got that spoiler from ebay. Took like 3 days from to get to me in NJ after paying and I gotta say the paint and finish are great and it installed easily. I did however have my buddy who owns an auto shop do it for me but I did so some standing and supervising. Took about 45 minutes and looks great. Took it to the dealer for something and my sales guy was like, I didn't know we got the spoiler on that for you. Lol...the only thing I haven't done yet is wire up the break light in the spoiler. My sales guy did say that the cabin light remains wired so far on the 13's with the spoiler so...there it is. Hope this helps!

Thank you sir. And to co-sign a previous statement you made, the light bar in the spoiler is most definitely LED. Spoiler came shipped in 2 parts. 2 screws were supplied to attach the LED strip and then just attach to the rear decklid and wire that sucker up. Still have to wire it though. Found the instructions/schematic on Nissan Tech so hopefully they're accurate even for a non factory part. We shall see...fingers crossed.

You have a plug for the led in the rear of your trunk for the factory plug-and-play spoiler it's right around where your tag lights are.Just splice into the wires.
