3.5L shudder here you go!

Thank you for taking the time to contact Nissan and share your valuable insight with us. Your comments and concerns are appreciated highly and will help us improve our level of service.

Nissan is aware of the concern with the shaking or rumbling of the car at low speeds and this concern has been addressed for the 2.5L and engineers are currently investigating the 3.5L. In driving the vehicle when the shaking or rumble occurs is not doing any damage to the vehicle. Your local Nissan dealer will be provided with updates regarding this concern as they become available.

Case #10352879 has been created to document your concern. If you have additional questions or comments, please feel free to contact me directly at 615-725-7157.

Thank you for taking the time to write.

Hey, that's interesting.... "and this concern has been addressed for the 2.5L and engineers are currently investigating the 3.5L."

I haven't heard anything from Nissan regarding my 2.5L filed case #....neither has my dealer.

Great news! Apparently we've gotten their attention. Im going to recall my CA Specialist tomorrow - just a couple of days ago I was given a different story. They were saying that it wasn't a widespread problem. Maybe the volume of complaints reached the "critical mass" to force some action.

Maybe they are waiting to solve both before releasing the 2.5 fix?

Yea I haven't heard or read anything about Nissan actually rolling out any recall/fix for the 2.5.

Like I've stated before, the rumble doesn't bother me all that much but I would like them to roll out a fix.

I'd rather have no rumble all together, but by no means am I looking to get rid of my new car.

I love the car and there really aren't any other vehicles that I want in the same price range.

Here's hoping Nissan is truly working on a fix and will roll out recall notices sometime very soon.

Nissan has a site for Technical Bulletins...it has several that relate to re-programing the CVT on 2.5's...not 3.5's yet.

www .nissan-techinfo (dot) com/TSB/TSB_xml/nmIndex.aspx

Just do a search on that page and you'll find 4 pages of 2013 Altima Bulletins.

I'm wondering what "on certain specific 2013 models" is referring too.

If anyone contacts the dealer and obtains any other info about the reprogram please post some info.

I'll def look to bring my car down if this is an actual fix.

If its just BS than I'd rather not take my car in.

If you're having an issue you should definitely get it on record with your dealer and Nissan. Believe me it's going to get worse.

atglass just how bad has yours become???

And what are your exact symptoms that are occurring???

I'm not bothered by the rumble either, but since folks are going to complain and swear that something is wrong (although Nissan knows nothing is not), then they are going to do something about it just to shut those people up.

Yea but is much rather my car not rumble than rumble.

And if all it takes it me bringing my car into the dealer for the day then I'm down for it.

I just don't wanna bring my car in, then I get it back and the rumble comes right back.

I guess we'll see if anyone has anymore info on the Technical Bulletin Nissan released.

The CA specialist called today in reference to my open case on the 3.5 shudder. Her suggestion, since my dealer "cannot duplicate" the shudder was to take it to another dealer. This makes no sense to me. I'm reluctant to have the car trashed out again and another 80 miles put on it - only to get another "cannot duplicate" response.

The other lame answer I'm getting is that it's "characteristic" of the car. Nonsense, it didn't do it when new. It developed the problem. That's not "characteristic".

Has anyone actually gotten a dealer service person to experience the 3.5 shudder?

dbc there's one of the main reasons I won't bring my car into the dealer for the CVT NVH issue in my 2.5SL.

I don't need the dealer to put miles on my car and or do any damage to the vehicle while simply telling me "that's normal for the car".

Once Nissan releases a fix/recall then I will decide if and when I will bring my car in.

I've seen members bring there car in and end up with scratches, either on the exterior or interior and other minor issues.

I would absolutely loose it if that happened to me.
