I went on Nissan's tech info website the other day and saw some other TSBs that may apply to my car. Going to call a dealership or Nissan to confirm what I see.

I have the 2.5 SL. The problem I have, is a moaning sound when I first start off. The best description I can give, is that it feels like I'm driving a manual transmission, and starting off in 3rd gear. Is that the problem this thread speaks of? The reason I ask, is that my car does it on a flat road, and not necessarily going uphill, like the OP says.

I'm employed at a Nissan dealership in the Southeast Region.
I'm a 24 year Nissan Master / ASE Master Technician.
I'm, the F-1 guy at my dealership, basically I'm the guy they bring the car to when things bewteen the customer and Nissan escalate to a buy back or final repair situation. I cooperate with the regional DTS (District Technical Specialist) in getting the car fixed to the customers satisfaction.
I'm am not sure if the other regions have this so please don't run into your local dealership demanding the F-1 guy.
So enough of that.
Fix 1
The brake light coming on issue....
Very soon there will be software update availabe to correct the issue, a TSB is going to be issued and the update will be available at that time, the exact date is unknown at the monent
Fix 2
A low rumble or vibration felt bewteen 1400-1600 RPM , on slight throttle tip in on a small uphill grade. Alot of people think it's from the CVT but it's not (whew... right).
The issue is due to a vibration/slippage of the engine drive belt on the 2.5L engine only.
There is a TSB also coming for this, the fix is a countermeasure drive belt auto-tensioner and drive belt replacement.
If the condition is driving you crazy dealers are authorized to replace the tensioner (with the old style) and belt at the time of visit and when the countermeasure parts come in get it fixed permantly.
So far this is all I can elaborate on. More is on the way.
PLEASE don't flood me private messages or e-mails, I'll get y'all the info when I can.

Hang in there L33 owners !
Thank you ,I will wait for my next oil change and then ask to have this problem finally fixed on my 2.5L hate that rumbling feeling after my car is fully warmed up .Again a BIG thank you.
I was told today by NISNISSAN1 that
1) a new wiring harness is in manufacturing to correct heated seat problem (Some time mid feb)
2) A software fix will be sent to dealers in a couple weeks for the airbag problem (yeah)
Master-tech, have you heard anything regarding the 3.5L CVT programming? Us V6 people are having an issue when you take off from a stop lightly, and then hammer it... the CVT won't change to a more aggressive gearing in a timely manner. Literally, you'll sit there there accelerating in granny gear and then BOOM the trans kicks down into go gear and you finally move out. There's a lot of us reporting this.
Also, when we decelerate and coast to a stop around 20mph there is a sudden jolt. Previous people who have brought their cars in were told it's likely the torque converter locking/unlocking at a weird time.
The Following User Says Thank You to 2-0 terror For This Useful Post:
Thank NISSAN-MASTERTECH for this info. It defiantly gave some peace of mind that Nissan is working on these issues and hopefully they get fixed soon. My 2.5SV did have a Break light issue and has an ongoing "rumbling" issue which is getting louder and annoying. I am taking it to dealer on monday to address it.
Thought about the vibration/slippage of drive belt Master Tech referred to, really hard. I really don't understand why and how the belt could be slipping at a particular RPM and when, in my particular case, If I slowly accelerate past 1600 rpm and slowly decelerate back through, the noise and vibration are still the same. I cannot understand how the belt could be slipping on deceleration. It seems to me there is another underlying issue there that Nissan is trying to be mask over by installing a
new and improved belt tensioner.
I had a belt and tensioner swap done on my car and immediately after, I had some reduction in noise/vibration but I could still hear it... the root problem was still there. The noise/vibration has gotten so bad again after just 1300 mi, my dealer had to order me another one. Perhaps I'm a doubting Thomas but until the noise/vibration in my car is completely gone, and not just a little gone, I will continue to have doubts.
