Some Fixes Are Coming Soon...

First, A little about me.

I'm employed at a Nissan dealership in the Southeast Region.

I'm a 24 year Nissan Master / ASE Master Technician.

I'm, the F-1 guy at my dealership, basically I'm the guy they bring the car to when things bewteen the customer and Nissan escalate to a buy back or final repair situation. I cooperate with the regional DTS (District Technical Specialist) in getting the car fixed to the customers satisfaction.

I'm am not sure if the other regions have this so please don't run into your local dealership demanding the F-1 guy.

So enough of that.

Fix 1

The brake light coming on issue....
Very soon there will be software update availabe to correct the issue, a TSB is going to be issued and the update will be available at that time, the exact date is unknown at the monent

Fix 2

A low rumble or vibration felt bewteen 1400-1600 RPM , on slight throttle tip in on a small uphill grade. Alot of people think it's from the CVT but it's not (whew... right).
The issue is due to a vibration/slippage of the engine drive belt on the 2.5L engine only.
There is a TSB also coming for this, the fix is a countermeasure drive belt auto-tensioner and drive belt replacement.
If the condition is driving you crazy dealers are authorized to replace the tensioner (with the old style) and belt at the time of visit and when the countermeasure parts come in get it fixed permantly.

So far this is all I can elaborate on. More is on the way.

PLEASE don't flood me private messages or e-mails, I'll get y'all the info when I can.

Hang in there L33 owners !

We really appreciate hearing from someone "in-the-know." Not to take advantage of your position and expertise, but could you tell us if the following issues are on the radar for fixes?

1) AC compressor is always on: Procedure to heat without AC on is documented on page 4-30 of the owners manual, but it doesn't work. When heating, we don't get the "AC off" display when we hit the AC button as the manual says we should.

2) Windshield wiper coverage: The driver side wiper doesn't cover the last 3-4 inches of the left side of the windshield. This leaves a lack of visibility in rainy/snowy conditions because some of the left side is blocked.

Any input on these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Cool. Good to know. I wonder how long the repair/software takes to Install.

The software upload or "flash" as we call it should take less than an hour in most cases.

I have not heard anything pertaining to the issues you speak of.

I'll look try to look into the AC concern, as for the wipers a simple repositioning of the drivers side wiper arm may be in order.

You won't be able to obtain a full wipe all the way to the A pillar, there has to be a little area where the wiper has room to flex during high speed operation so if you or the technician make any adjustments they will need to be small ones.

I just has this done, Monday...my service manager said he didn't think would be a permanent fix.....but changed the tensioner and belt, per tech line. I had a feeling he knew something, but wasn't telling. I must say it's noticeably better, rumblewise, not gone completely, I really have to focus to feel it....but I've only driven 125 miles since the replacement. Not sure how long it will last. I also must say without the rumble ,we've all become a custom to...this car is a little piece of heaven. If the final fix provides what I have now, permanently....everyone should be very happy.

TBS - Technical Service Bulletin are recommended procedures for repairing - basically instruction from Nissan to tell the dealer how to fix a problem.

Any fix coming for the whining power steering noise yet?
