2014 Nissan Altima 65k Miles.
2 months ago when my altima had 59k miles on it. I was turning into a parking lot where the entrance was very steep uphill climb. This blocked my vision to turn into the lot and as I tried to turn in, I hit a pretty big curb and went over it all 4 wheels. I immediately parked the car and looked for under body damage (nothing scraped under car) and there was nothing visible. The car drove fine and is still driving fine. Alignment is fine too which is strange after hitting such a big curb. However, I have noticed a clicking sound that started at 61k miles. Not only that, in the left front wheel well there is grease that is sprayed. I have cleaned this grease off previously and it keeps re-appearing. The clicking sound only comes when the car initially starts moving, forward or reverse. the car drives smooth as butter. I have checked all boots for leaks, struts, control arms. axle inner and outer boot and have not found a single leak. I ruled out the grease being something I might have driven through as it keeps reappearing even after car wash and me specifically cleaning the wheel well. I drove 800 miles to and back from Ohio and it drove fine. I was looking at the side of the car when I came back and the grease was around the wheel well, drivers door and even the rear driver side door. I can't pinpoint the problematic leak as it is uniformly spread out on the inside of the wheel well and some on the rim. But nothing on the axle, bearing, caliper, strut, or the spring. and would love it if someone can help me out before this becomes a more expensive problem. Also if this helps, the grease was a very dark brown/red color and very thick comparable to vaseline.
