So after about 13 or so years without ever touching a skateboard (as a young teen that was all I did) I ordered a used deck that was used in a skate video for Blind. I take it out to the driveway almost as a joke to let my girlfriend try, maybe do a powerslide or some easy shit just to prove I'm not "that" old...and lo' and behold I land my first kickflip...perfectly....while rolling. I was always more of a stairs guy, we ollied over dekcs a lot back in those days, did launches of 3 - 4'-0" ramps, etc. Technical street tricks a la Rodney Mullen were never my forte. Just to see if it was fluke, I tried again immediately after. Landed it again. You guys have to understand that the kickflip is a basic move but one that I NEVER landed...so this was freaking me out a bit. third try, went for varial kickflip. Landed that too, had never even ATTEMPTED that one. This ever happen to you guys? Even with a video game; maybe you sucked pretty hard at 14, then tried again at 20 and whizzed through levels that used to take days?
Can't wait to try my luck at snowboarding again, I was always better at that than skateboarding anyways.
