..talk about replying late... bigox, and others who care, yeah the AAI-NIS is powered via its harness; and I then tapped into that to power the drive + play.
I'm still waiting for march to get back in touch with H&K to get my new unit... I also sent them suggestions; offer a way to stop auto-playing when the car turns on, amongst other things.
