i dunno whenever i put mine into neutral the RPM's seem higher than when its in D. (thus meaning more fuel consumption?) and when in neutral the tranny is disengaged from the engine which is why it seems to idle smoother. and gas is cheap now...(never thought id say that about 2.25 for premium)
