The tranny cooler you can buy yourself separate, it's under $100 and well worth the money. Personally I would recommend a TruCool because it has a built-in bypass system. If it's too cold in the winter it will not route the ATF and chill it excessively. Get at least a 4452 or bigger, you might have to mount it vertical instead of longitudinal.
Automatic transmission coolers and cooler kits.
You can bet your warranty is out the door if you turbo it. If I were you, I would factor in the cost of the build
plus the cost of a new transmission replacement or rebuild, just in case. Or at least know you can come up with the funds if it breaks. That's probably going to bring the total up to around 12 grand.
Consider how much you would get for your Altima if you were to sell or trade it, add the 6 or 12 grand to that price and decide what the end amount is. Then look at the market and see what other cars you could get for that kind of money. My guess is there are many to choose from.
What I'm trying to say is people need to keep a clear head about this and not jump into poor financial decisions. Imho, this turbo project is for the "hardcore" or "enthusiasts" or people that simply can afford it and love their Altima enough to not even consider another car.
