Car Squeaks when I hit bumps

Recently, every time i hit a decent bump, the front passenger side starts sqeaking. It sounds like a mouse is in my fender wall.

But When I just push up and down on the car when its not moving, i hear nothign. The car doesn't bounce up and down or anything, so the shocks dont seem to be blown.

Anyone got any ideas? thanks

Yup I have the exact same problem man. I heard squeaking in my car, and yeah there was no girlfriend in her this time so I knew something was up. I haven't replaced my struts yet but that definetly is the problem. Anyone know how much a strut replacement costs?

they should be $75-$100 a corner but you should replace them in pairs.

from my experience, when your struts start to go bad, your tires seem to 'bounce' after you hit bumps going at a higher rate of speed. you go around a corner and hit a bump while turning, it sucks, because your car kinda slides out of the corner a couple inches.

the struts job is to keep the springs from going back and forth too quickly, basically.

I pushed the front of my car where the noise is coming from and it doesnt seem to bounce any.

Whats the difference of struts and shocks?

I thought we had shocks and coil springs in the front?

Is it possible that the struts went bad yet they still hold the car up and aren't spongy?

IS it dangerous to drive on busted struts? THanks

try loosening the bolts a little. The ones that hold the strut in place. That worked for me.

When my car squeeks I just crawl under it and lube the bushings and crap like that, like the ones on the rear sway bar thingie, makes the squeeking go away for a while

so just to be clear

when you say that the struts are bad, are you referring to the shocks?
