Radiator Replacement
I have a 1998 nissan sentra 1.6l with about 78k on it. Both of the fans on the radiator seized or died somehow. At first I was just going to buy two fan motors on ebay and replace those, but one of the fans looked as though the blade may have melted near the hub, so I decided to just get another option I found, which was a radiator w/ two 12" slimmer black fans from Godspeed. I got it for about $160 shipped, and now I have to replace both the radiator and the two fans.
I was just working on it earlier and got both of the original fans off, though the wire on the passenger side fan is still plastic tied to the fan shroud. I got underneath the car and started trying to get the black plastic shielding off to get to the underside of the radiator but almost every one of the bolts holding it on snapped off halfway through taking them off and the rest are just completely stripped and rusted, so I'm going to have to drill them out, I tried starting earlier, but I don't have the proper bits and what not at the moment. I am also working on getting some batteries for my camera so I can better show the situation.
I just wanted to make sure if anyone knew if the inlet/outlet size for the new radiator (1 3/8") is the same as stock, for using the stock radiator hoses. Also, if anyone know where replacement better quality radiator hoses could be found, because I have only been able to find them for the 2.0l.
Going back outside to come back with more later, thanks.
