1st Post. Need a little help here with a 2006 Sentra SpecV

Need some expert advice:
I am considering a used Nissan Sentra Se-R Spec V but have read some terrible reviews of this car. Is this a car I should stay away from? Does the original powertrain/drivetrain warranty transfer to a new owner? The car I am looking at has 26,500 miles and is a 2006 as mentioned before. Is there an active recall on the engine I need to know about?

After doing some research I am now very leery of buying it even though the price seems to be very good.

Any helpful suggestions would be great.
Thanks in advance!

I've heard about a problem with the pre-cat breaking off and damaging the engine but I think there's a fairly simple solution to that. Look that up.

I've got an 06 with 33k on it right now. Owned it since new, the only issue mechanically i've had with it was fuel pressure regulator. Which just takes a few seconds for it to start. I've added a header to eliminate the precat. Hasn't let me down yet, and i've gotten 36mpg cruisin on long trips.

another big problem with these cars is the butterfly valves in the intake... each butterfly valve has 2 small screws that love to back out on their own and drop into the piston chamber. so all you need to do is take the top half of the intake off and loctite the screws. their are many of post to do this you just got to look for them.

I own a '08 Altima with a 2.5 and so far no problems and we have about 26,000 on it.

Two friends own SpecVs. One has a '02 with over 120k on it and he installed a header at 110k. So far no problems. I am actually purchasing this car in the next week or so. Another owns a '03 or '04 and he had under 60k on it and had engine problems due to the precat. Lucky for him he got Nissan to repalce the engine but it wasn't easy. I think he had to bring it to like three different dealers to get it done.

IIRC this was resolved proior to 2006, but still worth looking into.
