IVT Control Solenoid
My car would not start. Did everything as I had entered in prev threads. In the end I found the IVT control solenoid [intake valve timing control solenoid] fully retracted. I sprayed with cleaner and tried to make it work. Tried coming off the battery and it only moves 1/8 inch. I finally worked it to where it is fully extended and put some wire around the bottom piston slot to keep it from retracting and she runs like a champ. Nissan wants 235.00. I'm worried if I can drive the car like that. Can I do any damage to the valves? I suspect not but thought I would ask. Can I buy this anywhere else but Nissan?
