timing chattering

My sentra is making the timing chatter, but it does it between 1k and 2k rpm. and only for a split second when i hit the gas and release it. I've researched this problem for weeks, just wondering if its the chains, tensioners, oil pressure or as simple as the guides, i just want some more info. before a pay someon hundereds on what i may not need.
Thanks!
