Consumables Recomendations for Spec V

I'm just trying to get a grasp of what's the best bang for the buck when it comes to things like oils, gear oil, etc. for a Spec V. Any good recommendations?

i personally use K&N oil filter with Castrol GTX oil and regular tranny fluid (if you don't have the CVT tranny) and haven't had any problems.

but alot of guys seem to prefer going synthetic. but you run the risk of having leaks when you switch over.

only thing i know you shouldn't change is giving ur 2.5L premmy gas. others have said they run mid grade, but i know if i try to run anything less than 93 octane, my engine starts to knock.

also, if you haven't been told about it, then look into the 'butterfly screws' and 'pre-cat/header fix' for the QR25DE engine in the 02-06 sentra's

Hadn't heard about the butterflys yet. Already using a K&N CAI filter and oil filter. Spec V's I thought all had the close ratio 6-Speed. No CVT for me.

Where can I get those butterflys?

they are located on the intake take the top half off and you will see 4 butterflys each one of them has 2 screws they seem to get lose on some motors mine started to make a rattle like a loose screw top the intake off and they were great TG. next thing to eliminate is the precat. but its pretty simple theres some diagrams around this forum somewhere for it.

I've heard more myth than fact on the "leaking" when switching over to synthetic motor oil. I ran Amsoil in mine, and 50/50 mix of Redline MTX and MT90 for the tranny, great results with both.

I run Tennessee Region Sports Car Club of America using royal purple fluids, k&n is just a high priced purilator gold, save your money.

Anyone know of a good site for getting some of those nismo 17' wheels for the sentra? I'm trying to hook a set, even if they aren't perfect cosmetically.
