02 Sentra Spec-v

Hey my car is reading p0300 which is a multi cylinder misfire. I have changed the plugs and "wires" which from my understanding are the coils also. It has a hard time starting and sometimes it jerks or misses at lower rpm's. I was just wondering if someone had some sort of direction before I take it to the shop and spend anymore money on it. Thanks and anything would help.

on bolt its on the back side of the block underneath the intake manifold. the butterfly screws are inside the intake manifold. not hard to check. where you located i can do them both for a very reasonable fee

I did the crank position sensor this morn after work and took it around the block and it seemed to help the starting but ill have to see about the longterm driveability. As for the butterfly screws im going to do that this weekend when I don't have to work the same day. Ill keep you guys posted on the outcome. By the way kasey07 sorry i havent got back to you been outa town.

update again with the P0300

Well now I have done the butterfly screws and the crank postion sensor and still is running the same. The engine light came back on as it does every once and a while. Still reading the p0300? so now I guess its time to take it to the shop. I hate to do it but then im not just throwing money at it, ill let everyone know what it is when I get it fixed and hopefully help others out in the future....

 Improper spark plug
 Insufficient compression
 Incorrect fuel pressure
The injector circuit is open or shorted
 Fuel injectors
 Intake air leak
The ignition signal circuit is open or
shorted
 Lack of fuel
 Drive plate or flywheel
 Heated oxygen sensor 1
 Incorrect PCV hose connection

check your pre-cat if it is still there...

I keep hearing about checking for the pre-cat to see if its still there. As I have said I don't know much about these cars, so im wondering how to do so... If anyone can explain a little how to it would be much appriciated. I do have a header on the car if that makes a difference.

if you have an aftermarket header than you most likely don't have a pre-cat

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Sentra/2002/em.pdf

page 98 or just click on EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND THREE WAY CATALYST which is also known as a pre-cat.

Hi. I am having kind of the same issue. I have a 95 sentra. It jerks real real bad and acts like it is going to stall, but doesn't stall. I also have no power. It idols real smooth still. It starts right up. Just can't drive it . I changed spark plugs and wires. I cleaned the contacts on the distributor cap. I changed the fuel filter, and am now thinking could it be the fuel pump? What else could be wrong with my poor old car??
