Haven't been on the forums in a while. This is one of the cars I've been working on, it owned and driven by my friend Joe Ippolito. In 2009 Joe was whoopin' up on everything in his time attack class, with 21 1st place finishes in 22 races, and track records at most if the tracks in the South East, and a 1st place finish in at the NASA nationals in Salt Lake City, Utah, and a track record there. I came on board mid season 2009 and helped refine the car and tweak a little more out of the chassis, suspension, and motor. That pushed the track records Joe already had several seconds deeper.
For 2010 the car got a total remake. We dropped in a Proline Racing Engines balanced and blueprinted 11:1 compression VQ35DE from a 2004 Maxima, a Spec V 6 speed w/ a maxima bellhousing, an UpRev Osiris unlocked 350Z ecu for tuning, a BC racing Suspension coilover set w/ custom valving and spring rates (PM for more info), revised suspension geometry, and a lot of other custom work. Big props to Z1 Motorsports, BC Racing Suspension, NWP Engineering, and many others.
This video footage is from our last 2 events one at Road Atlanta and one for the Ultimate Track Car Challenge last Month @ Virginia International Raceway. The car is hitting 160mph so the next big additions are going to be aero work. Check out the vids, leave some comments, and let us know what you think.
Nice Vids, especially like the bumper cam view. out of curiosity, did this SE-R use to be silver? I remember seeing a vid at Atlanta track a while back.
do you have a page or site for the car? it'd be killer if you had some pics of her modifications and overall look.
Yep, the car is silver, and last year it was running a QR25. These vids are with the VQ35. If you go to Joe's YouTube page, there are a few more vids.
Don't have a webpage for the car, except for the Car Domain page we needed to enter the Ultimate Track Car Challenge race. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3843627
The main issue right now is keeping axles under the car. We're blowing through 2-3 a weekend, the axles were never meant to withstand 160mph. Most of the free $$$ right now is going to getting some axles race prepped. With the new aero work, the car is even faster. We'll get around to re-doing the exhaust/headers at some point.
^Have you tried contacting that (I believe it's called) driveshaftpro? That may not be the correct name but people will know what I'm talking about. They will rebuild your stock axles (or make new ones) to handle almost any amount of power you desire, stepping up in stages of price of course.
If you have no idea what company I'm talking about, I'll look up and get the correct link for you.
Niceeee, my friend has a sentra, I was wondering what we can do to it ;P
Too bad my job recently blocked all the media content on the web, I'll have to see the vids later at home. Car looks mean in the pictures though, good job!
How many ponies is that thing pushing? I'm surprised the 3.5 fit in there
