Replacement door latch

Hey all i've got a 2005 Sentra that today decided that it didn't want to let me out from the inside.

In short I am trying to source a replacement latch for it. Funny thing is it was working fine until it wasn't.

Anyone have any ideas of where to get a latch and any tips at getting the thing out and a new one in?

have you inspected the linkage, tested the outside and inside handle and greased the latch?

junkyard would probably be the best, a pull-a-part type would give you practice in removing it if you have one in the area.

I have tested the inside and outside and find that the outside works. The inside works when I pull really hard and have taken a look at the latch action and found that it isn't engaging the way that it should be.

I have not take anything apart because, honestly, I am like a bull in a china shop when it comes to trim work.

Thanks for the link. I actually went to a U Pull It yesterday looking for some steelies and seen that there was only 1 B15 on the entire yard. Luckily there are 4 to 5 more places I can go to in a 50 mile radius.

Anything that I need to know to lube the latch? Is that an internal thing or can it be done from the outside with some lithium grease?

Strangely I did nothing and the problem went away.

I think I had still better lube it up while the going is still good.
