2005 SPEC V choking with low RPM in gear

Hello,

I have a problem with my 2005 Spec v 2.5. I changed all ignition coils and spark plugs, but it seems like every time I push pedal to the floor on 2nd or 3rd gear my car chokes until RPM is higher than 3000. There is no check engine light on.
Car is fine while idling, it is fine if I press gas pedal slowly, but when I do it fast it jumps back and forth several times until RPM is higher. This really worries me! There is only 80K on the engine and car mostly sits in the garage.

Any help or advice would be appreciated. I would rather go to mechanic knowing how much it is going to cost me rather than going clueless

Thank you
Jack

could be several things, but first make sure the MIL (check engine) is working right. should come on when you turn car on (before cranking).

I'd say check the cylinders first, make sure they don't have slight leakage that might get worse at higher RPMs

then look for intake leaks, fuel pressure, and the exhaust. could also have to do with the MAF... my MAF went out on me with no code. but car was spitting out gas and I knew the plugs and coils were good so I took a chance with a $50 ebay MAF, which worked for a minute, but ended up getting an OEM MAF in the end.

Thank you! That gives me a better idea.
Check engine light is working, so I know that is ok.
Is there any other way to check it without buying it?

Again thank you for information
