Question B15 Sentra Axle Nut Size

im trying to replace the control arms on my g/f's 2001 Sentra GXE 1.8L . my problem is that the threaded ends of the axles are so long, they bottom out my axle nut sockets, which are shallow wells.
  • i cant even get enough of a bite to see which size fits it, so i can go buy a deep well socket to finish the job.
  • i have a factory service manual, but it doesnt even say what size it is!
  • ive searched the web, but have found answers saying everything from 24mm (which i know is BS) clear up to 30mm. (i think its a 28 or 30)

also, do all the B15 Sentra's use the same axles and nut sizes, regardless of the engine option? what about the older and new ones? are they the same?
