My next headunit: Kenwood P-NAV6019

Oh damn....I am so anxious!!!! I am ordering this either Thursday or Friday!!!

Kenwood P-NAV6019 Car Navigation Systems

However, Jimmy the Cricket is buzzing extremely loud inside my head; I can get a lot more goodies for $1500 bucks (Crutchfield). I did some online searching and found the same setup for $1099 at onlinecarstereo.com. Have anyone had business with these guys? Now the reason why I want this particular (and expensive) system is:

1. My Kenwood Music Keg. There are a lot of cheaper NAV/DVD packages out there but they are not compatible with the Music Keg. This car storage unit holds 20 Gb worth of tunes and it is a hideaway system for my Kenwood Excelon deck. You can hold only 4Gb on CDs and they are prone to scratching. IPods are out of the question.....smash and grabs for IPods are on the rise.

2. The most important reason is because my wifey retired from being a navigator!!! We drove from Alabama to California (used to do the Washington-Alabama runs three years ago) and she got fed up of trying to find our location on the map. So she blessed off on the purchase, providing I kick off a grand in her direction!!!

Now there are three things standing in the way:

1. PS3. There aren't any decent games out yet, BUT the thing has BlueRay....BlueRay players run from 1,000 dollars up!!! And I'll get one for only 500 bucks?

2. HTPC. In short, its a home theater pc. Cost in excess of 800 dollars to build, and it'll run like a TiVo, only 3 times better, since you can store all your downloaded movies, videos and music on it. I'm a tech geek. Sue me.

3. Car parts. Hell, namely the AT S5 grill, the E-Racings front bumper, and a set of Tein adjustable coilovers with the EDFC controller. This will definitely set me apart from the ever growing sea of Altimas on post here. I can get the AT S5 grill with any of my paychecks and I don't know if the E-racings front bumper can come painted to match my factory color. Also my ride is already dropped on a set of Tein lowering springs.

Man I hate decisions........

It sounds like you have kenwood setup now, so you're not riding stock on the audio. $1500 is a very expensive purchase to justify. Navigation sure, DVD player, yeah. How often would you really use it? $1500 worth? Is a map that difficult to read?

I purchased my Alpine deck from etronics. Purchasing online you lose the warranty option, so beware of that. Crutchfield also supplies you with all the accessories required.

PS3 is a Blu-ray player, and for that reason I've considered it. BUT it doesn't upconvert normal DVDs to HD quality. This was a downside for me since I have more DVDs than I would buy Blu-ray.

Save the money for the other things. You can get some nice car stuff for $1500.

Yeah, it's a steep purchase. However I believe it have its payoff in the end. I did mention that another audio site sells the same setup fo less.....about $500 dollars less!!! That is what has me antsy for the past three days. I sure want that system, but its going to come down to either Thursday of Friday that will determine if I am a idiot or thrifty.
