I ordered the 5120 instead of the 8120 mainly for two reasons:
1. It looks more factory with external nobs and cd slot (plus the color match in the background lights)
2. I figure the task that you will do the most is change the volume and the 5120 has a nice sized external knob where as the 8120 does not and because I am so impatient, that would frustrate me.
Plus, is built in blue tooth that great when you can buy the add-on blue tooth for the 5120 off ebay for under $100? My decision was no, it is not worth the extra money, but to each their own. Nonetheless, I think either unit would be a solid choice.
Go with the 7" screen. The 8120 is probably the best double din unit made. There are few things in life that one could actually acquire the best of. It took a while to install my unit, only because I am particular on my installs. If you need help with possible extras for install shoot me a PM and I can fill you in as it is very fresh on my mind.

I personally like the 8120. I like the look of just a full screen with no buttons, plus it has built in bluetooth. How much of a price difference is it between the two? You can not go wrong with Kenwood. I have always used Kenwood and I love them. If i didnt get the stock gps, I would of went with the 8120.
...and honsetly, the fact that the 8120 does not have any other color for the buttons other than neon blue is a large enough reason for me to write it off. IMO it will look tacky with contrasting colors.

I know about crutchfield's compare thing, but according to it there really isn't that many differances expect the ones i mentioned so why is the price 700$ more (on crutchfield)???
I completely agree with your views towards why go with 5120.
In the matter of fact i wasn't even concidering 8120, but got a friend that got it for $850 via a friend of his that works in a major electronics store. So he can hook me up with same price. I'm waiting for him to quote 5120 so i could see how much more i'm really looking at.
Another thing - does 5120 have screen tilt up/down feature?

No, No adjustment to the angle of the screen.
That sux!!!
So is the screen leveled with surface or it's a bit "out" on the top and "in" at the buttom?
These are the things i'm looking for. No comparrision chart has this (user-friendly) info.

Logically yes, but in reality it could be close to nothing discount. 8120's overstock for example. Or store's rebates from Kenwood. Or that he stole a few boxes of 8120 LOL.

It's pretty level with the surface; looks stock as mentioned before. I have had my 5120 ever since they first came out because I was too impatient to wait on the 8120 to drop. I have had NO issues at all with my 5120!!!!

Do any of the 2 have internal memory storage??
I believe 8120 has a plug where u can stick your flash card in.
One of the main things for me is music which i have a LOOOOOT of and instead of keep on switching mp3 cds i'd much rather have a few gigs (at least) of memory with best albums on it.
