I actually just replaced all my speakers in my 08 a couple days ago with some new infinities. I will go take some pics on how to take the rear deck apart and post them if someone doesn't beat me to it.

EDIT: You don't have to completely take the back apart and you don't have to take the seat apart either although alot of people say you do.

how much did the infinities cost you if you don't mind me asking. My friend just got a set in his truck and theyre awesome. Our local shop charged him 500 with install...

Okay, this can get a little frustrating at certain parts BUT, it's not too difficult to do. The worst part is putting it back together:

First pull down the seat obviously and remove the 5 pegs that are holding this lip down. Once the pegs are out you just pull the lip down and it slides off easily

Here is a pic with the lip removed:

Once you get the lip off you need to take the side pillars off, to do this get a fine screwdriver and pop these little airbag emblems off

Under these covers is a bolt that you need a #10 socket wrench for if I remember correctly. Just take them out and then pop the pillar out. They come off with little resistance.

Next thing you can do is detach the rear deck and then peel the seat a little bit and you can lift the whole rear deck over the seat.

I don't have pics of my removing it but you get the idea and should be able to see what I'm talking about once you get there. Like I said it's not too difficult to do.

If you have problems getting the rear deck up you can go into the trunk and pinch the pegs and push them up so you can get the deck up.

(The white thing is the peg obviously)

Then once you get the deck up disconnect the brake light (you should be able to reach your arm under and unclip it, it's really easy to disconnect) and pull the deck down into your back seat.

From there you can do whatever to your speakers.

By the way, be careful when putting the deck back because the clips are delicate. I broke one on accident but it still fastens just fine.

There you have it

Also, the speakers are stuck down with adhesive so use a flathead screwdriver and just pry them up. I peeled the adhesive off the speakers and used them when putting my new speakers in so you don't get any rattling.

Good Luck!

I know this might be an old question, but I have a new 2010 2.5 Altima without rear speakers. I have already attached the radio, works great but now to tackle the rear deck.

Great write up on how to get to the rear speakers. I'm going to be installing some Infinite Kappa 693.9I speakers this weekend. Should be a breeze to do after looking at your instructions. Thanks!

this write up helped me a lot last saturday...I can't believe i was able to remove the deck and deadening under the deck, but i end up bending 2 clips on the deck, cos they're 4 of them. the rattling is so bad that i was afraid that the 3rd brake light housing will break my rear windshield. so now i'll have to take it apart again to put 2 new clips... can i buy these clips at autozone/pep boys or advance? or it has to be from the dealership?
Thanks...

I did it cos, the deck was rattling so much, so i decided to put some deadening mat underneath the deck and also put some 3m double sided tape around the speaker mount and now the rattle is worse.
