So i'm driving today and hear this freaking rattle coming out of driver's door. I first thought that one of the plastic clips got loose/felt off/was never put back since passenger's side doesn't rattle. Took me a while to see SOMETHING between door panel and speaker itself thru stock speaker grill. I had all kind of thoughts running thru my head of what it could be but i sure as hell wouldn't think it was a PART of the speaker that felt off. WTF??? I removed my door panel to fix the issue and find out that the middle piece of the speaker felt off. Here's a pic of it together with pick of where it SHOULD be.
I did blast it a few times but damn, aren't these speakers supposed to handle their own vibrations??? POLK's rms is 100W, so is my amp's. Too much bass or defective piece? I put it back where it belongs and it seemed to hold there (it's glued) but as soon as i i turned the volume up bit it felt off again.
Looks like i'll either need to literally glue it back with some kind of super glue or just leave it the way it is now. Does glue idea make any sense to u or am i just being retarded? Is there a purpose of this middle part other than for decor?
