Appreciate the feedback nismos14. JVC it is - I already have a Garmin unit, so no need for the navigation. I think I'll get a JVC KW-AX820. Now on to the other details. I have the factory Bose setup, what exactly do I need to purchase to keep the steering wheel controls as well as get it to work with the Bose speaker setup? OEA-4 adapter and harness and what is needed to retain the steering wheel controls?
I will probably purchase the rest of the stuff from crutchfield.com, however the head unit can be found elsewhere for much much less.
The nav in the JVC uses the navteq maps, same as garmin, so you could just get rid of the garmin if you wanted to.
If not the 820 isn't bad, you need a metra70-7551 wiring harness, and a pac-swi-jack2 to maintain the bose and steering wheel controls.
Noticed the metra70-7551 has RCA jacks, which I assume work with the JVC head unit. I have the Bose OEM stereo setup, does this change any of the requirements?
Nope, that's precisely what you need. Hook up the RCA's to the the pre-amp out puts of the JVC, and make sure you hook up the remote wire from the 70-7551 to the remote wire of the JVC, that gives the bose amp and speakers signal, and the amplifier it's remote signal.

I definitely appreciate the info. I am ready to buy, where would you recommend online I order the metra 70-7551 and the pac-swi-jack2 from? I also am curious about the trip computer, do any of these cables take care of that, or is it something I will have to ground manually?

When installing the PAC adaptor, you will be grounding the necessary blue wire from the harness, so it will handle the trip computer being restored.
If you choose not to use the steering wheel adaptor, then manually ground the blue wire.

I would go ebay for the 70-7551, it's the cheapest usually. I think I have a spare one too, but I like keeping extra parts around. Exactly what Wicked said about the steering wheel controls. If I'm not mistaken though, the swi still doesn't affect the three wire harness in terms of the blue wire, they just tell you to ground it.
