Post Trunk rattle fix faq (pics)..

not sure if all this applies to the 2nd & 3rd gens, but it helped tons on my 1st gen trunk..

here's the most important part, before:


and after being wrapped with electrical tape (trim peices out in this pic):


then go inside the trunk lid and pull this clip out:


pull the lock out:


then wrap tightly with tape:

*it might be hard to get back in, but it'll go. also, if you use your key to open the trunk (I never do), make sure it all still moves freely..

not sure if it helped, but I put polyfill between the whole latch and the trunk lid:


and if all that fails, loosen these bolts, and move the hook down a little:


that's about it.

Hail and falling trees, all in 2 weeks Thank god i only have $100 deductable...

what does KMBWA mean?

aren't you worried about having your system jacked? i don't even have subs, but i disabled the pop-lever when i got the car cuz i keep anything important that i'm driving around in my trunk. that way even if somebody breaks into the car, they aren't getting into the trunk. cept mabye through that lil hole, but you'd have to be damn small. dunno, i heard 'bout somebody on this site losing their whole system this way a few weeks ago.

Eh..
1. I live in Fargo, ND

i have my trunk pop disabled............i just made another key and i have it on one of those keychains that u can remove from the main keychain so its not too bad..............

good advice, I did everything you mentioned, but when i pulled that clip out I slipped and now it is somewhere in my trunk. Any ideas on how to get it out

dang.. well.. removing the lid only takes 4 bolts.. I'd take it off and see if I could jiggle hte clip out..
