The Plug and Play Haltech for Maximas/Altimas! Serious tuning , all info inside!

This is a discussion thread for this system, please keep it on topic.

This is HUGE for the EARLY VQ35 ECU cars out there!

This system is POWERFUL, for the serious N/A and the FI cars out there! This is a real engine management system!

Some of the major features of this system include:

-End User Tunable (not locked like some EMS on the market)
-Sequential Fuel and Ignition Control (32x32)
-Complete Intake and Exhaust Cam Control (24x24)
-Cylinder Trim Tables for each injector and ignition coil (8x8)
-Configurable AXIS and Load points for all tuning tables
-Tuning via MAF, TPS, or MAP
-Fuel tuning by Volumetric Efficiency (VE) or Injection Time (MS)
-Open/Closed Loop Boost Control
-Dual Channel Closed Loop 02 Control
-Map Trace
-Onboard Data Logging
-USB Communication (no outdated Serial cable required)
-New Windows Tuning Software, ‘Haltech ECU Manager’
-32Bit Microprocessor, 55MHz
-User defined rev limiter
-Auxiliary two-step rev limiter
-Knock Detection
-Overboost Protection
-User Configurable Inputs and Outputs
-Nitrous and Meth Injection Control

The harness has plugs built in for widebands, boost solenoid, external map, exhaust valve timing, and aux limiter. This allows for quick and easy hook up of other features! With this harness you can put the Haltech in the glove box without even modifying the glove box at all. This also allows the ecu "kick panels" to be used making for a super clean install!

This Haltech unit completely controls fuel and ignition; there is no “switch over” point. Tuning is done different ways, but the most common way is to use the onboard map sensor and tune with Volumetric Efficiency.

The Haltech software is amazing to say the least. There is so much control and user definable tables. With easy USB connectivity it really makes things easy. With real time tuning the adjustments that are made do not need “saving” -they are done!

I recommend downloading the Haltech software (Haltech downloads page) install it, open up the 350Z base map, go to view/ load page, load the fuel page. Then play around.

This system is made to work with 02-03 Maximas (and i35's), 02-04 Altimas with VQ35, 03 G35 sedan (early ones), swapped cars running the older grey connector vq35 ecu (sentras mostly).

Ive removed my MAF sensor (im tuned with the onboard map sensor) and i have NO Codes for the MAF sensor. This makes for a SUPER clean engine bay! And no more issues with the maxima MAF.

This unit can adjust CAM TIMING, alter the cam timing and the stock ecu will want to throw a code. Some cars throw a soft code and do not illuminate the cel, but some throw hard codes and do illuminate the cel. This is nothing to worry about.

Haltech also makes a wideband o2 sensor kit, it comes with a controller, and you can get 2 wideband sensors (really nice for the vq motor).

There are so many tuners for this system its crazy! This makes it very nice for anyone wanting to run this and take it to a tuner local to them!

This system works great with the 09 Maxima motor that i'm running!

The Haltech unit is completely running the EVT system. Ive built into the harness a plug just for EVT. So if its ever needed it can easily be hooked up!

Haltech is excellent for tuning and very user friendly. I run one on my altima and my 240 might get one this summer.

Mine wasn't PnP in my 2003 when it was installed about a year ago, but still managed to make it work. Haltech made my car so much better. Mine is neatly tucked away behind, underneath the dash with the usb cord coming out of the cubby hole for access. Here is a pic(kinda) http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5e269eb1.jpg

NICE! The PNP harness makes it easy to install and remove if needed. Glad to see more FWD VQ's with Haltech's!
