I'm bringing this thread back because I have some information for you guys related to this stuff.

First off vehemence, have you gotten a chance to look into the E-Mance stuff?

I got a pair of correct 512K daughterboards from Calum for the '94 Altima. And they work great!!! His daughterboard can actually be switched between 32K and 64K ROM mode. That means you can program them to be used in a 64K or 32K ECU. He will prepare your ECU with the required daughterboard for about $103 when you ship him the ECU. I believe it also covers the type of tune you want but I am not sure so you'll have to ask him. I asked him to program stock ROM binaries for me since I want to start learning this stuff a little at a time. Oh, BTW, he mentioned that E-Mance is a basic older version of his daughterboard design but that it should work fine.

Here are a few things that I know DOES work.

ECUs for automatic transmissions and manual transmissions have different binary codes but...

- A '93 Altima ECU for automatic transmission (that's correct, '93) will directly plug in and run on a '94 Altima with manual transmission without a single hitch.

- Conversely, a '94 Altima M/T ECU programmed with a '93 Altima A/T binary will also directly plug in and run on a '94 Altima M/T.

- A '94 Altima ECU with automatic transmission will directly plug in and run on a '94 Altima manual transmission.

- A '94 Altima M/T ECU programmed with a '94 Altima A/T binary will also directly plug in and run on a '94 Altima M/T.

- All '94 Altima ECUs for XE, GXE, SE, or GLE has the same binary codes and are therefore interchangeable.

- A S13 ECU with manual transmission can directly plug in and run on a '94 Altima M/T.

I haven't actually started any real ECU tuning per se since I have just been running some street tests to see what works and doesn't work on my Altima. But I'll put all my info over on the ECU tuning forum from time-to-time.

Hopefully, some of us can move the DIY ECU tuning for the Altima along since it has been seriously lacking around here.

hmm might have to check this out for my 94 sentra... although its pretty hard to do something like this when i know that the jwt tune for the 1.6 sentras is pretty damn good..... and would actually be perfect for the basic bolt ons plus jwt cams i'm planning.... its weird i was never really sold on the NA jwt tune for the altimas... but its different on my sentra for some reason..

Everyone who is serious about having a "fast" KA is either FI or N20 equipped.SHAWN is the exception to that though.

Go forced induction or squeeze,or go home.
