If we rip a copper wire can we just twist the two ends together and tape

If we rip a copper wire for a sensor where theres only one wire can we just twist the two ends together and tape them and it'll be fine?

its the sensor on the upper radiator hose next to the alternator

Yes. I rather solder them together instead.

solder and heat shrink would be best.

Heat shrink will fail by the header.

that sensor isnt so close to the header that heat shrink should fail. just dont lay it over to the right where its on top of the damn things and you'll be doing this again if you dont solder it. i tried to skimp on that same sensor too cus i couldnt find my soldering iron.
