so i got this crazy idea to try this cam swap again, if you all remember last time i did this i messed up my car. but now i know what im doing. so me and a buddy went to the junker couldnt find any dohc 240sx's to save our life... we came across one which was taken apart... found the 248 exhaust cam which was broke in half... but me and my buddy had to do some swap today so we searched and found the 240 intake cam sitting in the trunk... heres the pics of the swap... and also the 240/240 is pretty good. not i have KA24DE with VTEC lol.
quick question how did you like the swap ? i had 248/248 and didnt feel a thing except a bumpy idle.it wasnt worth the mission.however i did feel the jim wolf s1 cams but only in the upper rpm range.they are expensive but they are noticable and the exhaust tone during a cold start up is nice.

i was looking @ doing 240/248 i believe.. its been awhile since i looked @ it... how is response in higher rpm range etc..? i start too lose power after 5500... and redline as we all kno is 6200.. the little 700 rpm could give a lil bit of boost since i have interest in this...
well when i take off it pulls like normal then around 4k rpm it picks up a lot more then usual where it dies out after 4-5k it doesnt i make power all the way to redline... i didnt even notice how close it was to redline last night and redlined the alty on accident... but yeah it makes power 4k to redline... so im guessing the 248/240 is 3.8k - redline because the lobe and duration difference.. im happy with this setup for now tho.. warmachine it was a pretty good mod... what about those 232/232 whats that feel like? im thinking of mix and matching cams and seeing what feels best to me...
their was actually a good right up on cam swapping done in ka24... but on a 240sx... HOWEVER... 232/232 i think is low end power... IIRC.... i believe 248/232 (just read the thread).. is by far where its at.. good gains all over.. however highend gains isnt AS great as 248/240 but according too the guy its the best cam swap done... ill look for the link somewhere and edit my post.
232/232 isn't to bad I suppose, its pretty torque but high end you do notice it doesn't pull as hard as I would like. I don't really know since stock is 232/232, didn't drive a different Altima to see if it actually a big difference. I was thinking maybe 240/232 or 248/232 but I dunno...
For fucks sake john, could you please learn how to post pictures like a normal person?

How you like the 240/240? I wanted to do a cam swap too but not sure what kind to get/do.
You didn't feel anything from 248/248 1stgenon20z??
I know Cali car's have different specs then federal (all other 49 states...) especially the 96 (my luck), they have 232/232.
well lets see i believe the wolf cams yeild about 8hp and those where noticable but the 248/248 let me down a bit.i dont think swapping stock cams yeilds much of a gain anyway i believe they just manage your power diffrently so you either feel more top or low end.you get what you pay for.

geez at least give me a thumbs up for another mod :P i post the pics this way just to make you mad ;] lol. i dont want to post them up where they show cause it makes the page lag... but hows your alty coming along? almost done?
^how many people are really still running dial-up though? It won't lag for anyone running cable internet now.
My car is sitting right now waiting for the new custom pulley then after that it will be working out all the little issues to get it back up to perfect.
Nice job on the cam swap though, i need to do something with my head, i'm just too broke.
