Need to make my altima faster, need tips!

today i lost to an Si (5 cars). And i promised to myself that i would never lose to one again lol. I only have an intake and by summer i want a stage 2 clutch, obx 4-2-1 headers, 2.5" magnaflow exhaust, and the excessive intake manifold. Good upgrades? How much hp gain?
Other questions...will these parts from 240sx work for altima engine? (all perfomance): throttle body, fuel injectors, rebuild kits .30 over? and so on...need help please. I live in a place where I want to show that Altima's can hang and i dont want to lose against cars like Hondas lol!!

This is shit that's been beaten to death on the forums. Use the search button and do some reading. Don't be the lazy asshole who expects answers that are widely available to just come to you.

Excessive intake manifold is worthless unless your gonna boost.

And unfortunately these cars are too heavy to hang with properly equipped hondas and such, gotta go boost or spray to keep up.

Ill say you might get 5 on the aftermarket intake, 10 on the header, 5 on the exhaust

But ill say save up and boost it. You will get more power than those.
You can find turbo settings in ka-t.org

you have too learn that the honda has v-tech.... its lighter... and he might have an intake or sumthing u dont know under the hood.. just by having an intake.. your not going too beable too beat an si lol...
however for my car.. i absolutely romp my friends old civic.. d16 BUT running 9lbs s/c'd.... also basic boltons like me but he has a 5speed.. im an autotragedy...

I think he should learn to use the search button first, he might not know what FI means.

if you want to keep up. I'm sure you have a big system in your trunk. Take that out is step one. Try as much as possible to reduce the weight of your car. Seeing as a civic is almost half the weight of our altima's.

All motor setup - cams, pulley, tb spacer, cai, 2.5" exhaust, header, port and polish, ITBs, tune.

Boost setup - turbo kit, cam, tune

gut your car of all its excess weight. do headers and exhaust. do a full tune up and switch to synthetic oil. the 00-01 manual trannys pull hard than the previous years bc of an improved gear ratio. just save your money and get a maxima (better platform). or you can always do a 30 shot nitrous and have a reliable dd.

Remove spare, jack, tools, clean out your car is a good start. You could save fity pounds with all of that alone.

Some decent mods will help for sure. I used to run with the following:

Carbon fiber hood
Injen short ram intake w/heat shield
Hotshot headers and downpipe
Unorothodox Racing pulley
full custom 2.5 inch cat back exhaust system
Jim Wolf Technology cams installed
Tokico HP shocks
Eibach pro lowering kit
Rotora slotted rotors and pads
Old picks:

It was a fun car.

True story. To the OP: I don't visit this site much at all, at least not as much as I used to, but it is good to have a community to share, talk, and learn from, eventually pass on info and support.

TO run an Altima and shock some people is fun, especially with the old torque(y) KA24DE (which in a 240sx, is mentioned on the cover of this month's import tuner).

I sold the Altima and bought a WRX back in 2006, then two weeks ago I am the proud owner of a Lancer Evolution MR Touring. Great car.

But I admire what you are doing, and I will never forget my old Altima, and how good it felt to shock, surprise, and even get thumbs up from others while rocking that thing. Good luck to you!

you can also put smaller rims and low-pro tires, and then besides turbo theres nothing much else you can do unless you do some custom stuff. you gotta be creative when trying to make more power out of this car. I've always wanted to do a cool can for the fuel. where you run a fuel line thru a can of ice water or another cooling agent and making the fuel denser for more power.

Ok buddy. Lets all agree to the potential of these altima. We do have potential. but it takes time and money for that.
THese engines are nice and easy to upgrade. But For being a altima were always going tyo have a MID-Sized Car. lol.

You can only use some of the internals from the 240sx engine. You can use engine parts from any sentra version that used our ka-24de engines.

Basicly the best bet for our cars is to turbo charge the engines. You can supercharge our engines but ive never seen it done. It would be original. So you have two options to choose from right their.

You can also Use higher octain gas and octain booster from autozone. Just dont use too much of that octain booster. you can fry some of your lifters but using too much.

also if your trying to get more power out of your car, go with some stability options for your handeling Ebach Ground Control coilover sleeves are a good option. Lowers your car about 1inch to 2 inches. I droped mine 1 inch. Reason being is so i dont Knock off my oil pan.

Basicly if you want to know more options buddy. Use the search button.
