3.5 DOHC oil capacity

Just got the oil changed on the Altima, looks like the shop put in 4.5 quarts of Mobil 1. Should I drain a little bit of oil out or will it be fine?

Nissan says when you change your oil and oil filter for the 3.5 you should fill it with 4 1/4 quarts of oil. I usually put 4 1/2 courts.

Here is the link http://www.courtesyparts.com/altima/L31_specs.html

There is this little "thingy" under the hood of you car.....its in the left front of your engine......its called a "dip stick".....you add your oil....then you check how much is in there with this "thingy"...its got a line that says....MIN....and one that says MAX....its REALLY cool.

So you add 3.5 to 4 quarts of oil.....start your motor....let it run for about 10 seconds...then you take that "dipstick" out again....wipe it.....put it back in....then pull it out....and check it again...and add oil accordingly....

quite the innovative tool..........lololololololololololol

dipsticks!!!.....lolol

I usually put in 4.5 myself. Check the dipstick. Does it show over full?
