I have a shop local that is charging me 1200 to make a custom sheetmetal. i have a spare manifold that i can send to extrude hone but they charge 650. or i can simply do the same project as jime and modify the spare one. I have only waited this long cause they have been telling next week for a couple of months now.
IMO, $800 is a bit much for an IM, but it depends on the gains. Plus, we all know that in this game, you have to pay to play.

I have a spare stock IM I can hack too, but would much rather wait a little longer to see if Kinetix comes through or if someone can do something with a Z33 plenum, ie. make it fit AND show gains that will make it worth it.

Subscribing too....

In addition to all the Alti's, you know there will at least five 5.5th Gen Maximas and some VQ35 4th Gens who would be all over this...

THats what i'm sayin puppetmaster....Kinetix can make alot of money off this deal...heck even Crawford if they come out with their version....theres so many people who are interested in this high flow IM it's not even funny....I don't know why companies are missing out on this opportunity

I'm happy with $700 shipped on an IM with a solid 10-15whp over peak, and pushing the curve further to the top-end....I'm already at 245whp on stock exhaust and I can further fine tune my AFCII....I'm still at 12.9 AFR and I know squeezing it to 13.5 can gain me more peak whp....also I plan to add bigger MAF, maybe bore the TB etc...

I know kinetix can cut us more slack than $800 if 20 or more people are willing to buy this IM...

Thanks Hayes... I've already been following that thread. Thing is, I don't want a hood scoop on my Maxima just for that thing to fit under the hood, so until we can fab one that will fit, that's a no go for me. That is one price I will not pay. Shorter intake piping would be better as well; for an N/A set-up, his can't be that good.

And he hasn't dynoed yet...

hey if they sold this at $800 or whatever....its not too bad considering it replaces lower IMs as well?

I wonder how hard the installation would be...I never removed the LIM or messed with the fuel rails...only removed my UIM on my 2k2 nissan max

How come the kinetix website says it replaced both upper and loweR? or is that only for the RWD VQ35s?

thats kinda ghey if the kinetix cost $800 and only replaces the upper......why can't they charge us $300 for that other RWD VQ35 plenum they have....that one only replaces the upper...

The 350z IM has three parts: (see below)
1. The Upper (what you see when you look under the hood)
2. The Middle (with the air type horns directing the air down to the middle)
3. The Lower (where the fuel rails attach and injectors plug in)

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

3-09-2006 Update

Got my car back. Got a chance to see the new IM. It looks pretty sweet. They should get it back from the polissher early next week. Sometime early next week I will have it on my car. I think they are pretty much done wth the 2nd prototype for shyestpark also.
