First off, there are 2 in the picture. Second, if you would have read the thread, they currently have enough parts to make 20 IMs right away. So there will at least be 20.
No company is serious about supporting the Altima community, that is why there is a lack of parts. I am just happy they went through with it. Crawford let it die, and other companies will not even try.
Why are you so negative. When the dyno's are done everyone can make an educated decision.
Precisely. If you take a look at the numbers from the Altima community alone, you have quite a few lining up for this item. Maxima.org has a member base of close to 50,000 members. There are currently 358 members active on the boards as we speak. Keep in mind that we have the 5.5 generation(02-03) and the 6th generation (04-06) maximas. This means we have at least 2000 members with the VQ35DE. If even 5% of these members are interested, thats still 100 members who are willing to pay up. As AltiAzul said, no company is serious about supporting our combined community, they dont see our cars as a viable market. But now we are starting to make some noise, we might see a bit more response from them
I would also like to consult with certain individuals who still don't think too highly of the Kinetix design. I think you know who I'm talking about.
Please expand on this.
Nothing much more to say really. I know several individuals, whose automotive knowledge is far superior to mine, who seem to think that the Kinetix isn't worth the money, based on what they know of the design. I've been talking to them about the Kinetix as well as other options like hacking the stock IM or using a modified Z33 IM.
The biggest thing now obviously is to see how the Kinetix and these other IMs do on the dyno.

i am still going to say that this design is not going to be superior to the 350z im especially when a spacer is used but i maybe wrong. let see those dyno numbers

you're assumming that 100 members nets them a profit worth making an investment in. Nobody is going to go into production mode in the hopes that X number of persons "seem" to be intersted. More than 95% of VQ Altima owners never even heard of a plenum bofore.
Aftermarket support for the Altima is a joke at best, sorry to say.
Look at Technosquare.
Why havent they released ecu reflash for the '04+? No demand.....relatively speaking.
Show me a stack of 100-200 Kinetix plenums stacked in a warehouse and I'll get a little more excited.
People waiting around for dyno #'s = me going down to the curb of my yard and looking down the street waiting for an R34 Skyline to be dropped off in front of my house
Look at the posted threads in this "engine" forum, then go look at Maxima.org or the VBoard, for example. The majority of guys who post there are serious tuners. Most guys who post on here post their recent "bling" mods way more than power modifications. This certainly resonates with the aftermarket community and to my knowledge, there is no other even slightly serious Altima board.
I give those who have kept the faith alot of credit but pardon me if I may say that the prospect of 100's of people driving around with Kinetix plenums is about as likely as me driving a right hand drive supercar from Japan.

We will be starting a group buy this week for SERIOUS purchasers of the SSV, once Doug and Geoff's dyno results are in.
Probably people who will actually buy it, instead of just complain that it isn't out and when it is released they do not purchase one.
My understanding is, in the brief time I have been a member, that poeple complain and complain about not having aftermarket support. When something is released the normally find 101 reasons why it is not worth the price to hide the fact they had no intention of buying int he first place.
I totally feel you on that reply, I felt at once there was no aftermarket support for our cars but its the fact knowing that people would only buy something that is affordable. Intakes for example are out for every car which I don't 100% approve as aftermarket support. I believe if sales are strong enough more products will eventually be devolped for our car like LSDs for example. Being a consumer many consumers don't give enough motivation for companys to even produce products for us we should be grateful that kinetix even considered making a manifold for our cars. I got sick and tired of hearing people making stupid remarks saying how long, this is taking forever, it will never come, people just disencourange the company to even contiune making progress on there projects you people should understand that these companys would probaly purposly delay the progress or even stop just to piss everyone off. Glad to hear a member like the AltiAzul had time and patience to help the community discover such a beautiful product for our cars. Thumbs up bro.
He is redesigning Doug's SSV. So the target peak power he is shooting for is 3,500 to 5,500 RPM's for naturally aspirated engines.
As you all may have guessed, the latest version SSV does not work well with automatic NA altimas. Power does not come on until 5kRPM. A stock manual VQ might show differrent results through.
Therefore, Kinetics is lengthening the runners by 1.25 inches and reducing the plenium chamber by 40% to shift the powerband down by 1,000RPM's.
The first SSV showed better results than the 2nd version.
This will be a more usable product for us bolt-on guys.
Fitting for the next version Altima SSV will be on Tuesday, Dyno to follow.
