CPE Intake Assessment

Well its been about 3 months since installing the CPE intake on my car. I wanted to get some long term driving impressions and a dyno before I posted any results or performance increases I experienced. I haven't had any time to get a dyno yet still. My first initial driving it felt like it had alittle increase in mid-range power. It sounded alot different, louder a nice big roar when you floored it. The gas mileage at first seem to had dropped, but it now seems to get about the same as before.

The increase in power honestly is hard to say. With my headers and my exhaust setup my car felt pretty powerful and fast already for what it is. I really wanted to dyno before making any claims on power increases. My butt dyno feels its alittle more power, but the dyno will tell.

I did the install myself and evidently the first one to do it themselfs. The instruction were not updated for the new harness I got, but with the help over the phone with Jason we got it squared away and should be updated for whoever gets it now. I did get the tuning version for later if I feel I need to make any changes. I know Jason wanted me to post my thoughts on the intake sooner, but I wanted to get some driving impression first plus get the dyno which I've had not yet done. Maybe next month I'll setup appointment somewhere.. I post my results with my stock intake back on and with the CPE swapped back in so we can get a more accurate comparison.

^ Glad to see someone finally post about their CP-E intake. I'm looking forward to your dyno results, although with headers and exhaust, I'd assume that you should try tuning it as my understanding is the CP-E system out of the box is set up for a car that's stock.

I've been itching to install mine, but I don't dare until I can get my SES issue fixed.

well I did have my SES light go off the very next day when I started it. It didn't go on after the install or when I test drove it that night. I knew nothing was wrong as far as the install, so I let the light go off on its own and hasn't come on since.

nice. felt same thing. instead of trying stock intake box. try an aftermarket if you have any to have a better comparison to other brands instead of stock. anything is an improvement from the stock box.
