sup all, I have found this link while searching on the web. I know some of you have used velicos headers write up on how to take the manifold off, But I found this one as well. As some of you remeber I stated that I felt a skip in my car and really needed to know what was going on...
yea i did bro, two rear spark plugs and coil packs cover in a pool of oil. A buddy of mines is a tech at nissan he said I needed six spark plugs, six coil packs, rear valve cover and valve cover gasket. he actually told to replace the two bad coil packs, but I plan on replacing all of them
I did a how-to on this on the other org. The plenum does not have to detach from the tb and the gasket can be reused without problems. I too found oil in one of the plug wells but not enough to worry.

well I got mmy manifold all the way off so I could clean the inside of it from gunk and oil, and she ran a lot better
did you actually fix it? cause for what you are telling me you didn't replace them yet?
i have the valve cover and valve cover gasket, but I have been too broke to buy the coils, im going to try this week and get them. the car has been in the garage, i have been driving my lil shit box...lol
Excessive amounts of oil on your spark plug indicates a fouled situation (Too rich, not enough spark, etc) [At tip of plug] or a leak in the head gasket [Around threads + pooled in spark plug chamber], FYI.

In my case the leak was the valvecover seal around the spark plug well. After siphoning up the oil I removed the plug and found no oil on the threading. Upon closer examination I found the inner valvecover gasket was slowly seeping oil into the well.
My gasket looked pretty good on the Maxi - 2002 with 141k when I did the plugs. This is the first time the plugs got changed and interestingly enough the car ran just fine with 140k+ plugs - these suckers are good forever it seems and perhaps fairly underrated at 100k lifespan. Then again 90% of my mileage was highway. I can't say power/mileage changed with the new plugs - in my case it was more of a piece of mind procedure than a fix of any sort.
