eBay Motors: OBX Exhaust Manifold Headers 02-06 Nissan Altima 2.5L (item 190217504287 end time May-01-08 23:44:29 PDT)

Does anybody have an experience with these obx headers for the 2.5? The 4-2-1 design appeals to me since it will had more low-mid range power and since this engine doesn't rev that high so I'm not to interested in a 4-1 header that makes upper rpm power and plus I have a 4AT so lower to mid range power sounds good to me. Any input 2.5 guys?

Is his a 4-2-1 design? or is it just a 4-1 header with no downpipe? Cheaper does sound better...are his like the xspower header and ss autochrome header. I just thought the obx one looked like a good alternative to the stillen header.

This is posted in the sticky:

"The Sentra and Altima CAN interchange the aftermarket header, except for certain kinds. The 4-2-1 header for the 2.5 is mainly made for the sentra and follows their underlining, so without modifications this cannot be properly installed on an Altima (this is because the brackets for the downpipe and on do not line up with the Altima and may push the exhaust back some. So if you were to go this route, I advise you get the header installed with the rest of it, and then get your custom catcback exhaust done so everything lines up correctly). However the straight 4-1 design can fit without any modifications on the Altima.
The list of companies that make a header for our vehicles are Hotshot, SSAutochrome, Nismo, Megan Racing (these three are the 4-1 design that can interchange with the sentra guys). Stillen, AEBS, Strup, DCSports (all come with a downpipe, so all except the Stillen, one (since it is specifically made for the Altima) may cause proper fitment issues unless it is modified).
*Note, you will throw a SES if you do not get an o2 simulator. For the 02-04 guys, the o2 simulator from Universal O2 Sensor Simulator works. However because the o2 sensor on the 05+ are different, I believe there is no solution to getting rid of it yet."

And my mistake, ssautochrome and XS are same....OBX is different. I doubt that will fit easy with the altima as stated above.

fyi headers by design 4-1 is for higher end rpm power and 4-2-1 are for lower-midrange power.

only 4-1 headers are direct bolt on for our altima.. the 4-2-1 (made for the sentra ser) has the right exhaust flange, but will require a complete custom exhaust. You can't mate a 4-2-1 w/ existing/stock exhaust.

Stock design is 4-1 w/ the pre-cat attached.

Yes, Basic Header only replaces the stock manifold w/ precat. Correct the stock pre-cat is known to ruin your engine sadly...

Thanks!
