If you have a leak then chances are it isn't going to do much for you. Did you try an 02-04 gasket? Get that thing sealed before you give up on it.
For sure. I went over to the local Nissan dealer today and picked up the 02-04 gasket. As my G-Daddy (RIP) used to say "Do it right or don't do it". He also used to drink Listerine so take that for what its worth.

I have the stock tin gasket that came off the butterfly valve piece. I put some gasket maker stuff between that and the intake and still, the leak continues. There is one thing that could have gone wrong. They said it takes 24 hours for the stuff to completely set. I drove after an hour or two. That may be my problem. But still, the only gain/ or lack there of is a lack of bottom end. I've noticed no gains what-so-ever. I don't think a little leak like this would prevent the gains that have been mentioned here. Or at least notice a gain would be nice.

You should notice an increase from 3500rpm and up with the peak at 6000rpm's. It is only 10hp total. Maybe you can't notice it, but let it sit overnight so the gasket can seal. The biggest difference is felt from 5600rpm to 6000rpm. Also a torque increase at 4200 rpm with a gain of 12tq. That's where you have built up the most gains from this mod. 8-10 hp, 12 tq.
It probably lowers as you increase up to 6600 rpm for stock ecu. It's not a huge gain. Similar to CAI or exhaust or y-pipe.
All about 10 hp gains each.
When you add them all up that's where you notice a big difference.
Just an example: peak hp and torque mods at peak powerband or rpm
CAI-10hp
Exhaust- 10hp
y-pipe - 12hp
spacers - 5 hp
SSIM - 12 hp
VIAS delete NWP plate- 10hp
cams - 10 hp
Technosquare ecu and tune -8-10hp
headers 25 hp
super charger- 100hp
turbo - 125hp
nitrous- 75 shot 75 hp
+2 degree timing = better low end

i recently installed mine in my 02 3.5se and i didnt notice some loss of low end power.
But, I do notice a different top end like everyone mentioned passed 4500 rpm not 3500. My speedo just moves so rapidly at near the end of 2nd gear about 5grand +.
Pretty much all mods for our cars on their own produce ~10hp. But like you said, as you start combining them then you really feel the differences with each mod. I noticed a fairly big difference with my VIAS plate being that I already have an intake/exhaust on my car and once the Y pipe goes on the thing should really be nuts. I can already get 30mph rolling tire spinning with an auto. I was honestly a little sceptical of this mod at first, but once I took the car out and got on it in 2nd and 3rd it was very obvious the gains. Having all of the other mods just helps that bottom end torque loss as well so it is not as noticeable.

OK so I got my plate today, installed it and all I gots to say is HOLY ****IN SHIT!!! If you ain't got this you need to be castrated with a rusty pair of nail clippers. This thing is the absolute shit and everyone needs one....even grandma. Aaron is the man. I bow down to him.
I noticed a change on the first shift. My butt-dyno was workin overtime.
if you read this entire thread (i have) you'll notice that most (if not all) complaints about this mod are from SE-R's
maybe you just cant feel the difference in the top end with an SE-R
i noticed the same thing! i dont know why this is. i have the plate sitting in my car. tomorrow i might throw it in but im not sure il notice a difference since my car isnt running right but wh knows ill give it a shot and find out.
if i use the rtv compound, how hard is it to remove if i choose to go back to stock?

Tuko, get back to this thread after you put yours in. I didn't notice anything, only a loss in low-mid range loss.
Why did you take you intake out? Were you getting a rattling comming from it? I thik my cai might be rattling or something of the sort. Somethings up. Bottom line is if you got gains with your ser.
I just wanted to add that I put the block plate on last night and yes i can tell a difference about 3000 rpm and up. Not a bad add-on for the price

lol, i hope you're not running the turanzas! i remember when i was stock my 4AT with the shitanzas used to spin 1-2 and 2-3
I re-did my RTV gasket maker stuff to see if this would eliminate the air leak that I hear hissing from 2,500-3,000 rpm. If this doesn't fix the problem, I guess I have an air leak somewhere else. I'm thinking maybe my cat could be the problem, but I don't think so. Another problem with the first time I put the gasket maker stuff in, is that it said it was supposed to set in 24 hours. I drove it after about a half hour. I'll let it set for 24 hrs and see where I'm at. If this doesn't work, anyone else have this kind of problem? I hear it from the passenger side of the car when I'm accelerating out of the toll booth. Anyone run into the same problem, even outside of the block plate?

why don't you go to the dealer and get a gasket from a 2002-2004 VIAS
