plug and play? what is required to hook it up besides the device itself?
Yessir! The 03-04 Altima's need a harness adapter but the 05-06 do not. Simply plug and play, a few mounting bolts and hardware and there is an optional remote map selector to change your maps on the fly. Five maps total along with lots of other things. Check it out.

This is the last thing i need to buy for my full n/a setup... and i can't make a damn choice
UTEC
AEM
COBB
TS REFLASH
??
Since Greddy is in backruptcy and I dont know if they are going out of business in the future go for the UTEC all the way!

Take the first choice you have listed there, trust me you will NOT regret it. I have a buddy with a 350z with utec, hooked it up and is in the process of road tuning it himself and that mother pulls something crucial N/A and he still isnt quite done tuning!! Theres also a program you can download yourself that costs $30, pay that one time and use the program as much as you want, it makes certain types of widebands compatable with the utec, I have a Inovate LC-1 sitting in the box at home and once I get this utec I will be all set to have the utec capabilities along with having a data logging wideband so I will be able to run them out of the same program instead of using two seperate ones..
But if you wanna get real serious then Haltech will be your monster solver

That video is sick. That's a sweet ride.
Ok time for the stupid questions regarding maps and the utec.
Do you have to have a laptop hooked up to the utec to switch maps?
Or can you press a button on the utec somewhere and it will load a map for you?
Like map 3 with the touch of a button? with no laptop hooked up?

Reading about UTEC is almost same as Greddy EU;
Both are piggy-back
Both have dip switch where you can load settings and use it just switching a button
Both have option plugs where you can hook up widebands or other tools
In both you can use datalogs
...launch control = EU, I am sure UTEC have this feature also
...AT shifting settings = EU, I dont know about UTEC
...basic maps for specific application = both
...plug & play application harness adapter = both
For me the Greddy EU is perfect because I am running N/A and I only need to use AFR, timing, maybe launching control, speed limiter.
utec has two switches. one red turn switch on the back and if you get the map selector than you can mount that anywhere. its the same shape button as the tcs button on the alti.only prob is the alti doesnt have a spare space to mount it there unless the car isnt equipped with tcs.

the utec is pretty capable. unless you have a retarded sick buil like alberto os itb's on a n/a motor then the $2200 haltech isnt needed.
until utec get a map sensor the haltech is the way to go for fully built turbo engines.
someone should contact osiris. its a pro tune flash like the technosquare. last i rad they were looking for altimas to get tuned for free or for a big discount. this is another option instead of getting a piggy back ecu. you get the same benefits.
